The Warriors (Rockstar) - April 5th

So, I was just thinking the other day, how cool it would be if someone remade The Warriors .... then I come along a link that says that Rockstar (Toronto) is planning on releasing a game (PS2) based on the cult movie.

I just think its awesome that a company would make a game that potentially only caters to a small group of thirty somethings. This has rocketed up on my "must have" list for 2005.

Has anyone heard about what the playstyle of the game will be?

Interesting. I'm curious as to the development background of Rockstar Toronto. Are they newly formed or are they like Rockstar Vancouver, i.e. previously an existing developer bought and renamed under the Rockstar label?

No, but how about some wild speculation?

I'm gonna predict Dynasty Warriors-style 'battle through huge mobs' with one more attack button for a more varied combo selection. Will also have weapons and objects to pick up for use.

With stylized cut-scenes. That sounds awesome to me.


(but not for $49.99, since I am a cheap ass)

In this case, the game would be worse than the worst movie I have ever seen.(that doesn't mean I didn't watch the shit out of it)

I wonder if they'll make video games from other hollywood blockbusters like "manos hands of fate" or "sgt. kabukiman, NYPD". Freak out. choke myself.

I think this game was announced 25 years ago. Still no screenshots, nada.

im thinking state of emergency with ever so slightly improved graphics. i.e. it will suck.

If they license the likeness and voice of David Patrick Kelly this will be the greatest game ever made.
