I guess some leagues are smarter than the NFL when it comes to agreeing to monopolistic ownership of their licenses.

This is the worst news ever. :(
I'm gonna go light some candles in the basement and pray for EA.
I haven't bought a basketball game since Double Dribble, but it's always good to see EA get shot down.
I want to know what theirr master plan is. Console exclusivity is gonna rock everyone's socks.
It would be stupid of EA to be console exclusive though, so don't count on that being the plan.Quote:

Good. I hope EA pays the NBA $500 million or some crazy shit. This obsession with exclusivity is going to lead to bankruptcy if they keep it up, because the gain can't possibly outweigh the cost.Quote:

FIXED. I'm very disappointed in you for missing such an easy EA "burn".Quote:

This is good news. ESPN NBA shits all over Live in so many ways so it's nice to at least still have a choice in one sport
Ack, I was going to use that one. ;)Quote:

EA bought out the NFL lisence because they are unable to deal with being outdone by anyone. Hence, I don't see them giving up on the NBA just yet...
They weren't outdone in sales, which is what matters most to a business.
EA is going to go down like a $3 dollar Bagdad whore. Just like Akklaim.
Not really though. They still published games on the SNES and Genesis, so the 3DO was never the place to play EA games. It also launched at $700...Quote:

This thread has gone over 20 posts .. time to make a new EA thread.
Make it about Reebok paying to get their shoes in future games.
Why would it be stupid? Whatever console they pick wins in America, so really they would just be making easy for them only having to work with one console.Quote:
