So when I was at Kay-Bee I asked if I could take a look at Devil May Cry the women said not until I see a picture ID, what the hell? I understand if I'm gonna buy it they might want to be safe and check ID's but looking at it come on. If there that uptight they need to cover the M games up like porno mags so nobody can see em. I always thought looking and buying were two different things.

I hope you didn't think that I was against carding minors cause I'm for it but looking at them I think is a whole other area if they want to restrict minors from looking at a case they are gonna have to be major changes in stores.Quote:

Yeah, that's pretty lame that they ask for ID just so you can look at a game's cover... I think they go out of their way to not put anything too "offensive" on the boxes, seeing as how they'll be regularly viewed by the public at large.
Whatever, I hate extremes. Everything in moderation, especially stupidity.
If a minor can't buy the game, what makes you think the potential images or language on the back is appropriate for minors? The lady did her job, better than most it seems. I hope more people start doing it.

Get this, I was at WalMart the other day and this kid wanted to get some Mature rated game for the GameCube, and his mother said "But it has an M for Mature on it... what does that mean?" Fucking dumbass, it means Mature. The lady was honestly baffled by this for a minute.
The kid responded with "But they're playing it in Canada!" WTF ?? :) I've never seen a kid use that as an excuse to get a game.
Needless to say, he ended up with Pikmin.

I agree with EThugg wholeheartedly. But I do think it would be kinda F'd up if M rated games end up getting covered up like some mere porno mag.
I once looked at the cover and back description of DMC, and I felt an unbridled urge to go and kill people.

And why you still havent bought DMC in the first place, and look around looking at its box, instead of playing it? :)

If it store policy to enforce not selling M games to minors, that's fine and I agree with it. But not allowing someone to look at the box is just stupid.

While the self-appointed morality police in Washington can put all sorts of pressure on the industry to self-regulate, the moment they actually tried to make a law about it there would be 3,926,257 lawyers all up in their Kool-aid for their blatantly treasonous attempts to bypass that sticky little First Ammendment business.
