DDR on Xbox

I played Ultramix 1 earlier today and something seemed to be off about the timing. So I wonder: Does Ultramix have severe timing problems? When I got there the owners had changed the audio timing to -14, so it was way off, but setting back to 0 still seemed to be wrong. Is there a good number I should put it at without having to do trial & error?

It could also be the pad. I got an Ignition 2.0 pad awhlie ago from redoctane's website, ps2 only, and it works perfectly. They had a new Ignition 2.0 pad, which they bought from best buy, and it has both ps2 and xbox adaptors on it. Not only did the arrow buttons not seem to be raised on this new version (which cost the same that mine did) but it also didn't have little led lights at the top that blink on when you hit the buttons. It seems more cheaply made. So are these new pads worse?

I think it's all the box's fault though. The interface on ultramix is ugly and while the menus are more crisp than the ps2's, sorta, the game itself seems to just have a little lag before the button press and the registry.

The timing on the Xbox DDR games is all out of whack, and so are the timing windows (Ultramix has the world's largest great window known to man). You are better off grabbing the latest version of Stepmania on the Xbox (which I think is caught up to the PC rev. now, actually) and use that.

Bleh, my poor gf's family. They got it for their mom but all 6 people there will play it, and it'd be a huuge hassle for them to get the ps2 and game. Thanks for the news. I'll fiddle with the audio options to try to get the songs more synched, and then as to the gameplay, well what can I say.

I typically am really against game piracy, or doing things to avoid paying for games, but Stepmania really is the way to go. Until Konami gets serious about the home version of DDR, and allows for a way to use all songs from different mixes together at the same time, there is no comparing to Stepmania. As well, there are some really, really cool fan-created DDR song steps out there.

I have no timing issues with Ultramix 2, but I can't say anything for Ultramix 1 (never played it).

Well I personally have max and max 2 and some of the ps1 games for the playstation and I've got no problems, so instead of picking up ultramix 2 or going stepmania, my gf's family might just snag a new ps2. They've been wanting one for a while and they've got some x-mas cash.

I'm going to go persuse the ddruk and ddrfreak forums when I have time and patience.

I had no idea about that pad though, so thanks. I'm looking into getting another one for multiplay.

Common Sense Tip: Don't keep plastic objects on your ignition 2.0 pad. I have a small tear in the covering one one of the unused buttons because I was stupid for a day.

Sepmania on Xbox eh? Has anybody made a PS2 version, or is that not possible?

They mean a modded Xbox running the PC version.

Yeah, I figured that. What I mean is can a modded PS2 also run homebrews.
