i think it did pretty well in Japan at first, since it took SEGA a while to get the Genny/MD rolling there.Quote:

In terms of drawing parallells:
PS2 = Genesis Came out first and dominated the market early on. Later had to struggle with being the "underpowered" console.
Xbox = SNES Released later in the game, and boasted the most superior audio/graphical capabilities (barring CPU speed in the case of the SNES). Went on to dominate late in the game.
GC = TG16 Promising hardware ultimately doomed to be a "cult" system.
GC/SNES. SNES was just less of the previous system with better graphics. GC is just a worse N64 with cleaner graphics.
Xbox/TG-16. Big computer company that is new to consoles. Both make a sizable splash in native territory, yet not so much on the other side.
PS2/Genesis. By default, although the PS2 is not worthy. Both systems have some good shooters, but that's about the end of any decent comparison.
This is more accurate:
GC/Master System
Xbox/Master System
PS2/TG-16 (no CD add-on)
It was multi-billion dollar then too. Hell, it was multi-billion dollar in Pac-Man's time.Quote:

If this was the 16 bit era we wouldnt have to suffer through this thread..
So is PSP = Neo Geo then?
PSP = Turbo Express, it's got console-level horsepower and a brilliant screen.
