Man-Thing?

This one snuck up outta nowhere.We've been hearing about Fantastic Four,Sin City,Constantine and a slew of other comic movies, but I didnt know this one was coming out this quickly. I guess its slated for an early 2005 release, yet I've seen no pics of the costumes, no teasers or previews, nada.I'm honestly kind of surprised this didnt go straight to DVD or something. I mean how do you make a story about a walking mossy abomination of a creature that used to be a man, but now walks through multiple realities at will to undo wrongdoings, work well enough to go to the big screen? I guess we'll find out soon enough.

Anyways I bet a lot of people have no idea what the hell Man-Thing is so here you go:

Has anyone esle heard anything solid on this? I'm betting its going to be a like an updated version of Swamp Thing. I wonder if Man-Thing can heal chopped off titties?

Why the Man-Thing survives in the Marvel Universe is a puzzlement to many. He constantly shows up in the craziest places (I remember he was used as a random monster character in the old Dungeons and Dragons cartoon) and, much like the Savage Land and the Kree/Skrull War plot devices, won't go away no matter how little a demand there is.

Of all the Marvel properties they could've used...Man-Thing. Wow.

It's fun b-fare cinema. I didn't really mind much because I never read Swampthing comics but enjoyed the TV show and the cartoons. He's basically an enviornmentalist with balls.

Man-thing on the other hand I know nothing about. I think he was popular in the team-up circuit though because no one was buying his book. I assume this movie's gonna be a serious take on the character and turn up to be boring as hell.

It's directed by the guy who did Lawnmower Man and Virtuosity. The studios better emphasize on that if they expect anyone to pay to see it.

Well hell, you can tell from that poster that Man-Thing won't look anything like the actual Man-Thing. Why the hell do they have to mess with shit all the time, just make the damn character how it is! YARG!

My favorite part was how he infiltrates the mansion by dissolving into the outside pond and traveling through the pipes and rematerializing in the shower. Too sweet.
