Jade Empire

I just watched a bunch of the movies on Gametrailers.com and this is how I see it:

1. Trailer 1 video looked really, really good. Kind of got me exited.
2. Trailer 2 video had actual gameplay footage. I think the combat looks pretty weak.
3. Gameplay 1 video blows. I know it's just a very minor part of the game but the voice acting on that guy she was sparring with sucked. Not to mention that she doesn't speak the line when you select which one you want to say. When the fuck are we going to get to the point where everything is voice acted in gaming? There are VERY few games that giving the character a sound instead of a voice that I find charming.

After viewing these videos I must say that I'm going to pass on this game unless something about it comes along that I find irresistible about it, but I doubt it.

KOTOR and KOTOR II didn't speak the lines that you chose, and those games were fantastic, so I don't see it as a deal breaker.

Besides, everyone knows that YOU'RE supposed to act them out by yelling at the screen.

Hell, if you want, just write down all of the lines you choose on your first run through of the game, send em to me, and I'LL voice act them for you! I'll have to send you them on a casette tape however, because unlike Josh I do not have access to a quality recording studio.

WTF? Are you out of your goddamn mind am? You haven't even played Jade Empire EVER!

Looking at the videos alone I can tell it can't beat RE4.

All the voice acting is english? I though they were going to record it all in Mandarin for the authentic experience.

Interesting move by MS. Taking content out of the game. Almost forcing a gamer like me, one who waits for a price drop (most of the time), to be there on opening day. I don't like it one bit, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't curious about where this is going in the future. Could be bad.
