Black is too fast for its own good, and the levels are wayyy too wide-open. Matches are spent jousting across open planes, which gets old really fast. And even though it has a four player splitscreen, the camera sucks monster balls when the screen is split like that--it's not fun at all. Twisted Metal III is still my favorite Twisted Metal game, followed closely by Twisted Metal 2. However, I wouldn't buy a remake of either--they both have design flaws that need to be rectified, not expanded upon.
