I know it's a powerful system but how can it do 2-D graphics?
Judging by Castle of Shikigami, it shouldn't have any problems.
Well, 2D graphics are highly dependent on RAM. Since the Xbox could potentially use its HDD as Virtual RAM or at least as a cache, I am thinking it'll do just fine.
The pad is horrible for it, but that is another story...
Why not? Its an extremely powerful console, has a good amount of video ram, plus hard drive for extra memory processing, so it should be more than efficient in supporting a game like MVC2 or SF3 for example. Now, if only Capcom or SNK did bring their games over to it.
With its plethora of RAM and its hard drive, I am confident that MVC2 on XBOX could very well be the ultimate version.
As for the PS2 though...I don't wanna think about it.
Xbox would have no problem at all doing MvC2. I can't believe the question was even asked.
 , im not doubting that the system can handle it, but you're using this game to judge the systems 2D power? what a low life.Quote:

I can't believe anyone would be dumb enough to ask this even (sorry GF, nothing personal). No system that's gotten a version of MvC2 is better equipped to run it. Then again this is Capcom, so unless they're putting some effort in, it will probably not show off XB's 2D power...
You wouldnt happen to be Lucas Barton ...?I havent seen him around in a while.Quote:

While we're on the subject of 2-D on XBox, it would be nice to see the *real* sequel to Castlevania:Symphony of the Night be released on the XBox, a version that would take full advantage of the XBox's sound and graphic cababilities.
Sure is.Quote:

Yeah, Since Golgo been posting alot of Nintendo related news lately.
:lol:HaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHa! *wipes tear away from eye* I'm sorry... I just lost it a bit there.
*snicker*
The real question is can it handle Gunbird 2?
:lol:PppppppbbbbbwaaaaaahHaHaHaHaHa!
Ok, Ok. I'm alright now. I think. :)
*snortle*
It can handle it. So can PS2, so can GC.
The real question should be, "how many 2D games are we going to see next year?"
Ahahah, I thought this was a joke post. Also, did Lucas call someone a "low life" for having suggested that Castle of Shikigami indicates the Xbox's 2d capability? Hahah.
The Ridge Racer V sig kind of gives him away a little as well, but the Nintendo post maddness is a bigger indicater.
I haven't played Shiki, but the screenshots I saw of it looked quite...pixelicious. But in a bad way. I'd be a lot more excited about the MvC2 announcement if the game was called King of Fighters 2002 and, y'know, was actually that game.Quote:

just do you guys know, it's not like i was trying to hide it or anything. it's just that my friend made an account from my comp, and for some fucked up reason i can't log out. i even deleted the cookies and the shit doesn't work.
i can still post as Lucas Barton from my moms computer, but it's not worth leaving my room for.
Amen to that. I like my fighters with a lot more balance and a lot less button mashing...Quote:

... you people and your MvC2 bashing... *sigh*
I personally think a better question is: Does anyone care if the XBox can handle MvC2? I'd care if it could handle something I haven't already played to death over such a huge period of time, unless we're talking a 640x480 version of SFIII:TS.
I concur with Freeter..
This is weird....only four months between the last two posts...
Yea, with online play, I care. Unless that's not in the game, but everyone is now saying it is...Quote:

Xbox can handle it. Capcom could likely even add a little extra detail to the 3D backgrounds. MVC2 isn't my particular brand, but I'd be more interested in seeing a Street Fighter III Triple Impact.
Is this Thread Resurrection Day or something?
No, that was yesterday, when people least expected it. Now they expect it. :(
Fight Club must be boring if old threads are getting bumped...
FC was always boring.
