Help Me and My Small Chests

I have two chests, one has Mario Bros. and Zelda, and the other has TMNT on it. I've had them since i was little, but my dad's been using them until I asked to hold them myself a few months ago. They're kinda beat up now, and have some water damage, and i want to fix them up if it's possible. I'd prefer to have them done professionally, but if worse comes to worse I'm willing to do it myself.

After I get them fixed up, I want to make one of them a discount mini fridge to hold drinks. I figure I could some how make it water proof, then load it up with ice to keep my drinks frosty cold.

Here are the pics for the TMNT chest. There's no Raphael, just Leonardo twice.

I threw in the Homer gif for kicks. I can stare at that for hours.

I've had these since I was a kid, and I'd like to give them to my kids some day, assuming some lady would bear my children.

Is it just me or does Mario look evil in that first picture? And the princess looks kinda young, too... Pedophile?

I'm sure a proffesional can replaces all the metal parts with new ones and give it a new layer of clear protectant.

Unfortunately because it covered in artwork, that's about the best you can hope for.

I never noticed that as a kid, but when I got them back I was like.... wtf Mario?
