Big Boss - looking nothing like an older version of Snake, but rather the spitting image of Sean Connery - strolls up and says, "congratulations son, you're Foxhound material." Snake starts rambling things like "but you're dead, I killed you" "why don't you look like me if I'm your clone" and "how did I get young again." Boss replies "relax son. Everything that happened to you since the day you applied to join Foxhound was just a VR-manipulated dream. You experienced decades of field training and testing in a mere week. As for all that nonsense about clones and ghosts and conspiracies and bipedal nuclear tanks... you can blame that on the system programmer. Asian kid, think his name was Kojomo or something. Brilliant with the tactical simulations, but man, the ridiculous drama he insisted on inserting, I'm surprised you fell for any of it."
What exactly do you think a cutscene is?Quote:

That would be lamer than making a MGS game where you play as Snake for 10% of the game. No small feat.Quote:

Bang4TW.
Agreed. It would be fitting, and much more powerful. The ending of Bebop is still > *, because it didn't pull it's punches with lame bullshit.Quote:

Yeah, they could always go back and do some sort of game inbetween 2 and 4TW, in that case.
Bebop is tough to beat, the only thing that comes close is 24, when they put someone down on that show, they put them down and none of this EnsignsDieOnly shit either.

I was under the impression that you meant whether the trailer focused on the storyline over the actual gameplay.
There was maybe, maybe a 90-10 split in favor of cutscenes, some of which were specifically made for the 1st trailer, such as the Motorcyle-Vice City joke and the When Is It Released Solider Interrogation Joke.
I have no doubt that the games interface was implemented back then, it would be silly to have cut scenes from the Dog Chase scene, which happened quite a few hours into the game, without any actual game up until that point.
The ultimate point is that the MGS games are always further along then what is shown and what is usually shown first is made up by a majority of cutscenes that is represntative of the final game.
Watching the GAF noob's whack their pack off at this thing was too funny. I think MGS4 looks awesome, but it didn't "Wow!" me like Killzone 2 did, regardless if one is real time or not. *shrug*
