For the first time in a few years, I plugged in the NES. Surprised it still worked! I've spent the last four nights playing my old games. One I forgot about was Ikari Warriors. For a simple old shooter(?), this game has so many good replays. Not to mention, part of the attraction was that incredible cheat code, that until just a night ago I was not able to master!

The characters themselves were perfect for the nineteen eighties, everyone loved America and Rambo! I would play it back then and think to my little self, "Weee I’m John Rambo!” While dropping the controller to chase my kitty.

Another awesome part of this game did not make its way to the NES. Back then, I remember playing it at an arcade in a pub, and being able to use two joysticks, one to move and one to shoot! It was something I had not seen until many years later, when I played Quake (I think) for the first time.

One last small thing that I still enjoy about this game is the option to drive vehicles like Tanks! and Choppers! I know I am easily amused!

So there is my wish for a sequel, I know it got two but that was like... 10 years ago!

Cyborg Justice had so much potential but was just done in a half-assed way. I loved it at the time but I'm sure if I played it now I'd cringe. A well done sequel or remake would be aces.

Awesome list.

Someone else brought up Blackthorne. We have some seriously underappreciated games here. The only game that has a chance of being revived is Bionic Commando, probably. Actraiser might be an outside chance. Fun to think of 'what if' isn't it.

Mutant League Hockey (HOCK POOEY on MLF)
Haunting Starring Polterguy (a knock-off of this was released for the PC, but dang it, I want a full-fledged sequel)
Sub-Terrania (really innovative shooter, I'd love to see something in the same vein)
Captain Commando (I loved this, and it was a great Final Fight knock-off, really well-done level design as well)
3 Count Bout (probably my favorite Neo-Geo game outside of World Heroes 2, and yeah, I know there is no chance for a sequel, a man can dream though, a man can dream...)

Fuck Ikari Warriors. Great game ... and then at the end... No ending. Just a letter saying "Thank You". Felt like such a rip off after slogging through that game

I always say Shadowrun or Bionic Commando when I read these threads ... and nothing else is coming to mind.

Space Harrier -I think both SH2 and SH3D stink and I dont count Planet Harrier as a sequel
Wonder Boy 3: Dragon's Trap - Direct sequel to this game not the other WB's
Mickey Mania - I could imagine how nice this could look with more stages based on other Mickey toons
Dungeon Explorer 2 - with some online co-op
Legendary Axe - didn't like part 2 and think it looks hideous
Alien Syndrome - haven't tried the remake on ps2 but I wouldn't mind an action packed sequel

A Primal Rage sequel would be amazing. It's a corny game, I know, but I played it for hours a day a couple weeks ago on my Genesis. A sequel with new monsters and a better control layout would be awesome. The company who made the game, though, no longer exists. I really don't know about all that legal stuff, so I don't know if a sequel would even be possible.

You should be able to find a ROM of the unreleased PR sequel. The mechanics and controls are the same, though it has a totally different emphasis (you're human most of the time, and you can occasionally transform into a dinosaur).

I haven't played that game in ages. I remember the first time I played this game. I bought a couple boxes full of C-64 disks from a guy at school. I eventually tried this game and was hooked.

I have Rush'n'Attack, but I've never played it. I seem to own a lot of games that I still have yet to play - Ratchet and Clank, Dino Crisis, Phantasy Star Online, Final Fantasy X2...just to name a few.

The second one sucked, but the first one was a classic

If they were to make a new one, I'd want it on the GBA. A Streets of Rage with 3D graphics would just suck. Damn, now I have that one background track stuck in my head...

WOW!!! I didn't know that Rush'n Attack had a sequel ! I definitely need to try this on out on Mame! Thanks for the info!

It was a homebrew, not an official sequel. I played it at last year's Philly Classic.

Rumpy, that'd be the third one, and yeah, I'd like to pretend it never happened, although the visuals saw a massive increase in quality thanks to so many little details being added to the characters. SoR 1 is still my favorite in the series, although SoR 2 probably had the best levels.
