Even though I didn't agree with everything that won, I'm pretty okay with all of the winners...except for fighting game. No one at IGN besides me is qualified to have even a hint of an opinion about fighting games (which is a very sad fact, because I'm not even that good at the games).

Dead or Alive? Def Jam!? I think Mortal Kombat: Deception was third in the vote tallies.

If there's one nod I'll give to Sl1p, it's that SFIII:TS should indeed be Game of the Year here until something better comes out. I've yet to see it.
As of last year, besides those mentioned...
GG Isuka? Fun, but no.
Capcom Fighting Evolution? Ha! No.
GG X2 #R? Close, but no.
The three mentioned in the quote? Nope.
He really had something. Heck, why not just include SF: Anniversary Collection as one of the winners if you want to be technical?

Guilty Gear R is a fantastic game and should have won, just a shame it takes a lot of commitment to get anything out of it....

Your unfounded vitriol against MGS would be so much more hurtful if you had the least bit of taste in games. Luckily, if your reactions to this list are any indication, you don't.

It strikes me that you're probably one of those sad old guys who haunts the arcade at the bowling alley, yelling at teenagers about how your Galaga high score defines you as a person. You spit in the face of innovation because you cling so tightly to a nostalgia for games that were only good in their day because there was no alternative.

You obviously either didn't play the game, have the attention span of a small child, or are so terrible at stealth-action you barely got into the game. Otherwise, you'd know better than to say it has no action.

I'm surprised Ratchet+Clank 3 didn't win any awards. There are many games that came out in Q4 of last year that I haven't played yet, but of every one that I have R+C3 was my favorite. I know it got really high scores in EGM and Game Informer (they gave it a perfect score), but no one else I know has played it.

They're just waiting for it to go Greatest Hits. I just got Going Commando a couple of months ago.
