And even with the huge monster count, they are all beaten within seconds (except uber-Gigan and Monster X/Kaiser Ghidorah). There's more Matrix-style fighting with mutants and humans than monster fighting.

Yeah 2007 is a long way off. I'm thinking Rami, like most directors will do other projects but continue developing Spiderman 3 with other people, they even made a deal with a script polisher Alvin Sargent to do the 3rd and 4th script writing here's the news from Superherohype:
It seems like he's having a real hard time closing out his run if it ends with 3, just looking at some options he could either have John Jameson as Venom(which I wouldn't disagree with but I'd like Eddie as Venom), Harry as the Goblin and have Peter and Mary Jane move in together and continue they're new more open relationship and probably get married in the end(but I wouldn't do it).Quote:
Sony Pictures has made a seven-figure deal for Alvin Sargent to write Spider-Man 3, with an option to write the fourth movie as well, reports Variety. He has already begun work on the third film, which has a tentative release date of May 4, 2007.
The trade says Sargent is widely credited with whipping a problematic Spider-Man 2 script into shape, but he has evolved into the voice of the franchise.
Sargent got sole screen credit on the sequel but also did uncredited rewrite work on the first film, which was penned by David Koepp.
Sargent was brought on to polish the original film by his wife, Laura Ziskin, who produces the "Spider-Man" films with Marvel's Avi Arad. Koepp took a crack at writing the first draft of the sequel, followed by Smallville creators and scripting team Alfred Gough and Miles Millar and then author Michael Chabon. Sargent then was brought back and wound up with sole script credit.
The studio has not yet disclosed the storyline or villain for Spider-Man 3, but the story has already been crafted by Sargent along with director Sam Raimi and his brother, Ivan Raimi.
I'd personally have Venom and and Harry Osborn as villains with Harry being either Green Goblin or Hobgoblin.
I'd also put Peter in that awesome black symbiote costume for a small portion and act it out like the comics where he realizes the costume turns him into a more savage version of himself and rejects it. The real problem as you all know, is the Venom symbiote origin but I'm sure it can be done well without having to go into space.
For Venom's look it should be really cool, I'd have his head look smoothed out and soft looking like the Aliens in the Alien movies with the drool and everything and the eyes/tongue being a mix of special effects and practical stuff. The rest of the costume I'd make a textured suit looking not too far off from that Spawn movie outfit with the trademark white spider.
I just hope Spiderman 3 turns out great and has some really good villains. So far X-Men has sort of the same problem but it'll really depend on who's directing the 3rd to see how to predict. I'd rather they wait out for Bryan Singer to finish Superman but Marvel wants to move along. Blade as a trilogy dropped the ball with the last one but it's solid.
I noticed that if you look at both Spiderman and Superman movies they have some similarities like Superman/Spiderman losing their powers in the second, Spiderman doing the Superman thing with opening his shirts to reveal the spider and the outfit, Spiderman and Superman both holding up heavy vehicles like the helicopter/cable car....small stuff like that.
Anyway a strong Spiderman trilogy makes the franchise stronger and helps comic movies stay at a higher standard alongside the other great works especially with The Incredibles now being a very tough one to beat.
I'm surprised nobody mentioned the Lizard as a villain in the next one.

That's interesting. I didn't see him in the film at all so he probably did some scenes that were cut and not used in the original film. I wish they had, he could pass for Eddie very well.Quote:
