Yoshi's Touch & Go

Pretty addictive, this will make a great game at the office. Score attack mode is my fave so far. The game gets mean spirited in marathon. Using the stylus for getting enemy kill combos and coins is a blast. Here are my scores for both modes:

Also, if you read the 1up.com and gamespot reviews, make sure to balance it out a bit by also reading the IGN and EGM reviews. The 1ip.com and gamespot reviews aren't really tailored for score competitors and seem to focus on the fact it's not a platform sequel to Yoshi's Island (especially the 1up.com review by Jeremy Parish, it even goes so far as to say "There is no escalating difficulty" which is an outright falsehood)

Kinda wish there were some sort of bosses to fight though, now that'd be interesting....

EDIT: Also, was able to get it for $29.99 at EB. Was $34.99 at Gamestop...

Give me levels and bosses and shit.

Exactly. I feel like I'm missing something, because from everything I've heard and seen it sounds like this should have been stuck in Mario 64 DS.

As much fun as this game looks and sounds, I don't think $30 is a very justifiable price...

You do the same thing in every level, except... there are no levels. You run through the same course, just each time it's been randomized. The whole point of the game is to get the best score possible, which is why it's getting lauded so much as a "return to the good old days." But $30 to do the exact same thing over and over again just... doesn't seem right.

I'll probably still pick it up =/

Interpol, yea, if thats what its like, it is a "return to the good old days". Its just that the good old days sucked, and games like this prove this.

I'm in slow-ass Plantation store tomorrow, so I'll give it a shot there while I'm waiting for someone (anyone) to come into the store and buy stuff. I have a feeling I'm going to be all over it like a dog on a stuffed animal.

Yeah, this sounds like a glorified Game and Watch game. The DS design may be reminiscent of some two-screen ones, but there's no reason for a game to be so shallow for $30.

Of course, I could be wrong. I haven't played it yet. Since I'm done with Mario for now and Wario Ware didn't hold my interest as long as the original did, I think my next DS purchase is going to be the JPN Nintendogs at the end of April. I'll pass on this one.
