Word is, it could be an exclusive third party contract, meaning first-party publishers like Sony (989), Microsoft, and Nintendo will still be able to publish games using the real players and teams, but surprisingly, it's mega power EA who will be cut out of the loop."

Thatd be interesting. I want to see what Microsoft does with the High Heat license before I start taking sides. But MVP Baseball was the best baseball game last year so....

Wouldn't this be more of a Take 2 vs. EA thing, since they'd likely be ponying up the dough? No matter, anything that can work against EA's chances of completing ruling over the entire industry is a good thing.

This just in: EA announces it's own home console and continues making baseball games. Loophole!

After the whole NFL and ESPN exclusive deals that EA got- I can't wait to see what they do to punish Visual Concepts for this mockery.

Perhaps EA will sign exclusive rights to sex with VC employees' spouses?

I love how the people who were saying "This is eliminating competition, it is bad for gaming OH NOES!!!" are now applauding this. It's the same thing ... but since it's NOT EA doing it... it's ok.

toxic, it's eliminating competition, but since EA set the bar at "buy the exclusive rights or DIE", they really have no choice.
