Im kind of done talking about this topic on tnl, it always goes on the same circles, and i just get worked up over no real result. lets just say this monday we celebrated when a bunch of pushy religious types forced their moral views on others about treating humans as humans. Actually, I believe that most of the studies performed that made up the body of evidence I originally referred to were conducted with parents from middle to upper-middle class families.

But anyway, as I said before: Even if we licensed the ability to give birth, what would we do if someone "illegally" gave birth? Imprison them? Give the child to another family?

You know, it wasn't until I started really paying attention to politics (years and years ago) that it occurred to me that abortion was a problem. I'd never once confused a fetus, which I think of as a collection of cells with the potential to one day become human, with an actual person.

I'm being nice here and putting "I think" in the above sentence. It's a clever linguistic attempt to meet halfway people whose ideas on the subject might somehow be different than mine, if you can believe that such a thing can be possible. :)

Well, here's your problem. You're quantifying your stance by age, when you should be doing it by income and ability to properly raise a kid. It's certainly not just teens that are having without those resources, in fact usually the teen has a supportive family to help them out with costs and such. Not so for the twentysomething single woman in the inner city who works two jobs and just barely scrapes by on rent and utilities, let alone raising a kid or five.

Here we don't have abortions. They are morally wrong.


However, tradition requires us to permit a Baboon to deliver the baby.

Since Baboons have a taste for babies, it keeps the population steady and only those with the stongest of warrior(ess) instinct survive.

My solution: Procreation licenses.

Everyone gets their hormones locked up via uber government biotech crap. Pass the test (something along the lines of the SAT or ACT, only harder and with stricter passing requirements - no whimpy driver's-test-level BS here) and your's are unlocked for super happy fun time.

When I rise to power, this is on the list of things to do. That and outlaw large vehicles people don't need (like Chevy Tahoes. I hate those things).

Of course, given the workings of human nature, I'd probably be overthrown in short order.
