Street Fighter Anniversary Collection (XBOX)

any one have any spare 2 free months of XBL laying around? I have it and I'd like to play it online a bit but I'm sure in a few months the novelty of it will die and I'll go back to playing Alpha 2 on mame when I need online fighitng

While I know this is your opinion -- your credit of this compilation package is greatly understated. If anything, the more dedicated players will continue to play it for shits and giggles...while those were originally came from other franchises like DOA, MK and such are likely to be the first to go. CVS2 even now still gets some considerable traffic. Ultimately, games like SF Anniversary Collection (or any online fighting game for that matter will remain a viable option) since they offers players a broader range of competition that would be accessible to them unless it were at a highly frequented arcade or a major tournament event.

But to be devil's adovacte, this package isn't perfect -- the lobby system is crappy, matchmaking tools could have been so much better. The options available to a host creating a match are nearly non-existant (what's with the lack of the ablity to select different changes during a battle). These are just a few minor quibbles that I, like many have expressed. I am really hoping if Alpha Collection shows up, Capcom puts a little bit more TLC in the project for its dedicated fanbase.

I'm waiting 'til the crappy best buys in the area finally get their shipment in. It was supposed to arrive today, but I went there at lunch and they said that it hadn't arrived, but it'll arrive tonight or capcom gets a fine. I'll check back later tonight and hopefully be on either tonight or tomorrow...

I understand all this, but right now the novelty is an easy way to play some TNLers in these games (and most likely get destroyed in them as I haven't played either at all since the PS2 rev came out) and by the novelty of it dieing I mean for me

and those reasons are some of the reasons why the novelty will die off for me, There's plenty of competition out there on kawaks and once the DC emulators get better itll be there for SFIII as well, plus a better lobby system


I like the fact that theyre online I'm just not much of an online gamer any more, back in college I played games online all the damn time hours of Half Life and other things, now though *shrug* just isn't there

I really really really freaking wish this was online on the PS2 since everything but MMORPGS are free on it, and I wouldn't have to pay anything to once every couple of months put it in and play online (as that's really the extent of how much I play online, once every blue moon I'll feel the urge play something online for a few days and then walk away from it)

It's just how my gaming mood has been for awhile now *shrug*

I love it. It plays online as well as CvS2 did for me, which is about 100x better than GG ever did. I've had a few laggy matches and a few lag-free ones that have been AWESOME. I want to try some of you guys, see if we have a good connection.
