Who do you use online? Akuma takes serious damage and I refuse to use him unless I get someone who is pounding me sensless.... like destro was doing. I generally use a speed character so I can be under him and set up a chain attack for his failed air fireball landing or jump over him for a deep cross as only the top of his fist is invincible when doing a dragon punch.
We went over this allready, besides.. if I want to use a stick playing SF ill go fire up my cab. ;)Quote:

If you can get into a good match, the game becomes the greatest use of the internet ever.
If not, the game is still the greatest use of the internet ever.
Edit: I have no clue what happened with the connection when I played with DYLE, so don't go thinking I dropped, heh.
I didn't think you dropped man, I have been having connection problems all day. I'll catch you again eventually I'm sure.
I also agree wholeheartedly with what you said. Best use of the internet ever.
I got my new SFAC stick earlier today and there's something new in this shipment of controllers, an equalization socket. It's a plug that covers up the PS2 connector of the Arcade stick. The instructions claim that it improves signal response of the arcade stick when the stick is plugged into an Xbox.
Very peculiar, as I remember reading in the Shoryuken.com forums that you would eliminate the input lag of the joystick over Xbox LIVE if you connect the PS2 plug of the stick into a PS2. I always thought that it was a bunch of BS since I never noticed input lag when I used the stick over LIVE, but apparently, Nuby Tech thought otherwise.
I finally picked this up, traded in God of War so I only paid $1.59. I'll try to be on with this every couple nights or so since we've finally got a fighting game I really enjoy online, now if they'd only get around to releasing those six-button controllers and stop with the May crap.
I tried playing some last night, but all the fricken shotos kept raping me. I can't understand myself though, I would rape them the first round, then suck horribly every successive round >.<
I haven't noticed any trouble with mine playing over live. The game seems to always run really smooth.Quote:

If you're playing a shoto yourself, you can punish every sweep with a sweep of your own. It's funny training people slowly to not spam sweeps. Other fun ways to punish a sweep include Yang's hadoken motion punches, Ken's SA3, Chun's SA2, etc.
I kept trying to get the parry timing down on their "Jump in (Some kick) land Punch" repeat. But It was just really frustrating heh.
I do the same thing, because I'm dumb. *voice from Typing of the Dead* Don't be like him! Just block, and hit when they're open. Bad shotos are always giving you chances to hit, but seriously, you should block more than you parry.Quote:

Think I'll dust this off tonight and look for some of you -- Thief, when is the next time you'll be on?
Whenever the hell someone else is on heh. Just give me a time and I'll see you there (I'll add you to friends in a bit).
I've been staying up to 12-4 lately playing Phantom Dust so time isn't a big issue.
I usually work second shift, and can be available after 9:30. Lately, I just stopped playing in favor of PSP gaming. We can play for a bit tonight around 10 (eastern standard time) or so.
Yeah, I've heard of people using PS2->USB converters to dangle off of the PS2 port for better response. So, now I guess I've had 3 defective anniversary sticks since I'm now without this port cover...I mostly use my modded pelican anyway, but I might like to have a second console sanwa stick.Quote:

I'm selling the first one I modded on eBay. The Communicator port doesn't work, but everything else does.
Nice work. I need to get around to modding my stick as well.Quote:

The ArcadeStickMonk tutorial suggested to disconnect all PCB plugs to make it easier to do the mod. I must have partially damaged the Communicator PCB plug when I tried to remove it (even though I was really gentle), and it will only work if I push on the plug at a certain angle. Rather than try to fix the problem with soldering (according to ArcadeStickMonk) and risk further damage, I decided to sell the damn thing on eBay.Quote:

Got to play some matches with DYLE on Friday before the connection cut off. We were both shaking off our Third Strike rust, but had some good battles going before the connection crapped out.
Mods, can you move this thread to the online forum?
By the way, today is the last day to bid on my SFAC joystick.
Could someone please tell me where the hell the Animated Movie is on this game? Is it actually on the disc? I've tried it in a DVD player and there's no movie there. Do you have to unlock XBox DVD playback to play it?
It's in the gallery section of the game.
Ah, right. Thanks.
I should've bought this months ago. Has the price on the arcade stick gone down yet?
I was wondering about sticks too. What sticks have people bought and can they be bought anywhere but online? I mean, were they officially released outside Japan? I haven't really needed arcade sticks until now.
On eBay maybe, due to lack of demand. The only reason people bought the SFA stick was for the aesthetic, there are better sticks out there, and most people prefer just to customize it. People only buy the Anniversary stick now for two reasons, 1.) The Udon poster and 2.) to gut the stick and use its shell for a custom one.Quote:

Has anybody tried the tri-format (has GC, XBox and PS2 output) Soul Calibur 2 American-Style stick by Nubi? (Not the Japanese Hori SC 2 stick)
