Castlevania: The Belmont Legacy

IDW once again adapted one of Konami's property as a comic book. This time it's Castlevania.

I don't have much faith in this one (I haven't read the Silent Hill one, but their MGS series sucked big time). I'm surprised that they choosed to based it on Castlevania Adventure of all the games in the series.

The Silent Hill comic sucked. The MGS sucked. This will suck as well.

It's not clear to me from the link when this sucker is being released. Can anyone help me out with that?

Simon Belmont was AWESOME in "Captain N the Game Master". The comic should be based on THAT character.

The silent hill series was good - both comics series. The first issue of the first SH comic series was shakey but it improved big time from there. I liked it alot. There is so many different stories that could be told in the silent hill world, and these comics are proof.
The metal gear comic is all about ashley wood's art but even that wont make me spend $4+ an issue, because its the same dialouge as the games.
I will buy this castlevania book to see how it is.

Yeah pretty much. Word for word it's taken right from the game, it's like Ashley just pauses the MGS game and draws from that. I'm a sucker for the art though so I still buy it like an asshole.

I like Ashley Wood's covers, but I'm not a big fan of his interiors. Most of the time, his art looks like childish scribbles. or screenshots from Twin Snakes (wish he would've used the original game as a basis at least). I would've preferred if they had simply kept Ashley's work for covers and hire a more conventional artist for the interiors.

Either way, I think it's a waste of a license if they're going for a simple retell of the original MGS with badly-drawn art. I imagined they weren't allowed to take many liberties, but at the very least they should've based it on one of the older Metal Gear games.
