So, anyone have any word on this at all?

I really can't tell a thing from what they show. It looks nifty enough, but this is the first I ever heard of it.

It looks like a shooter to me. Possibly vertical. Its still too early to tell.
Yeah, I think I got that far already. Odds are good it's a Taito game with bullet-hell influences too, but figuring that out would involve me looking at the link I posted. Me no smart 'nuff fo' dat. :bang:

I think it's fair to say that if this is anything like XIIStag, it isn't worth consideration.
Yeah, XII Stag was one of the worst modern shooters I've ever played and this one looks to be no different. The first DC shooter I will not buy (should've been Chaos Field, but hindsight). Don't get excited unless you liked XII Stag and if you did lol.
LOL Excellent.
The Dreamcast will never die at this rate :) BIG THUMBS UP!
Five years on and still going... :D
Many years ago, when Sega gave up the ghost, I decided I was going to remain a Dreamcast loyalist and not buy another system until the last Dreamcast game had been released. After all, why did I need another system when that one had given me so much joy?
Boy would that have been stupid.
BTW, has the DC surpassed the Saturn in terms of post-death (undead?) releases?
Trizeal looks good- even if I've seen better shmups than XII Stag, I still like it. IIRC this isn't the last DC game, since Senkou no Ronde should be getting a port 4 months after its arcade release.
One of Randorama's friends in Japan has played Trizeal and described it as sort of a Shienryu 2000.

I would say it's when the hardware stop being manufactured.Quote:

I wasn't trying to say the DC had the longest record of undead games - the C64 probably holds that record. Or some Atari platform if you think hobbyists banging out horrible shareware on weekends counts.
But I don't think the Neo Geo could be considered dead when the 1st party was still making games for it. It was more like one of those life-support vegetative states where the family just couldn't let go, despite irrepairable brain damage having set in years ago.
Yeah, the worst shades. If Triangle Service wants to dig up graves, how about Thunder Force or even Compile? Not a game that couldn't compete with Raiden in 1990.Quote:

Giga Wing 2 looks nice, Zero Gunner 2 looks nice, Gradius V and Ikaruga look nice. I can't even complain much about Shikigami 2.
More like 6/10. I'm not interested in Trizeal so far since it looks like a "poor man's Raiden but...Shienryu is darn fun even though it feels like it was ripped out of a stuffy old pizzaria's arcade cab somewhere..but that's why i like it. So shut up Punky Brewster. grrr However...Quote:

Well, it's got to be better than Shienryu Explosion. (You call THAT Shienryu 2? Pffft!) Admittedly Raiden III is apt to trump it when its PS2 port hits.
Yeah, this is true of the NeoGeo, but not the DC. The manufacturing stopped a few years back, then last year they started to produce new systems again due to consumer demand. I think they're still making them, I've seen sites where you can by brand new Japanese DCs, but they're like $150~$200. :eek:Quote:

www.click-stick.com has some vids of Senkou in action, looks really interesting. I guess Milestone has a new Naomi shooter in the works too, looks better than Chaos Field though thats not saying much. *-neoQuote:

New stages, a mini game and a bonus Sega Direct soundtrack, I'm sold. After Psyvariar and Chaos Field being direct arcade ports, it's cool to see some effort made on a Naomi port. *-neoQuote:

It seems that Triangle Service's future rides on the success of Trizeal for Dreamcast. XIIStag was originally supposed to be produced by a company that the lead designer worked for, but they hadn't paid him for a few months. He says "If TRIZEAL for Dreamcast doesn't sell well, we won't be able to produce the next one. ". My preorder's been in for awhile, in fact.
This page contains a link to a demo of XIIStag Limited for Windows (nice IMO) and also a movie of their planned Project Lambda which is currently on hold but may hopefully show up on PS3/Xbox/Nintendo Revolution.
"It seems that Triangle Service's future rides on the success of Trizeal for Dreamcast."
In that case, RIP Traingle Service.
yea, um.. they picked a hell of a release to bet everything on.. :\
Yep. Shoulda made Half-Life 3.Quote:

Heck no, enough FPSs being made by everybody else..
The world can always use more 2D shooters :D (and more 2D games in general)
ALL:
What the?..
Why is everybody insulting Trizeal all over the place before its even come out on DC (and with a bunch of extras too I might add over the arcade version).
I hope it DOES sell well (relatively speaking) so Triangle Service can bring us more DC shmups :D and man even if they DO go under, they get MAJOR respect from me for putting out hardcore games (2D) until the very end. and on the DC as well.. even MORE respect heh :D :tu: :tu:
I'll be saving my $60 for that Ibara or Mushihime Sama pcb.
I'm hoping it sells decently also, and will keep my preorder going. I do NOT want Triangle Service to go down (XII Stag was fine by me).Quote:

Everything I've seen of Trizeal looks to be exactly the same, only with a slightly better image quality and small gameplay tweaks.
If XII Stag's lever-shake techniques put you off, Trizeal does not have that unless you're using the XII Stag ship which is only there as a special guest ala Batrider.
You switch between 3 weapon systems kind of like Elemental Master/Thunder Force and there are medals that work a bit like Battle Garegga. There's something we haven't seen tried in awhile by someone beside TecnoSoft. Once I've gotten this one in my Dreamcast, I'll be here with some impressions of it.
Remember Capcom's evolution from Street Fighter to Street Fighter II. Project Lambda could turn out to be dynamite if it sees the light of day.

In a bit of an unorthodox request, a couple of Japanese distributors are requesting that we increase our preorder numbers for Trizeal for the DC. We're pretty set on our quantity but it was a curious business practice. Our assumption is that preorder #s from other vendors/buyers are wretched.
This game is getting a strange amount of pre-release begging for support...
just for the heck of it, I thought I'd mention Sega is porting Trizeal to the PS2. (as reported by Magic Box)
Doesn't seem as though anyone here will care, seeing that there was little discussion of Trizeal after its Dreamcast release.
None-the-less, Trizeal is among my top 10 most enjoyed Dreamcast games.
Link? I was a dumbass and sold my modded Sega Sports version a couple years back.Quote:
