TV Nostalgia Trip

So we're watching Legends of the Hidden Temple on the new channel we get, Nickelodeon games and sports, which is like all LotHT, Guts, and Double Dare all the time, (they're on until 3 a.m. today) and it's absolutely awesome. What total trash Legends is. The best part though, are the totally awesome prizes. We just saw Electronic Karate Fighters, obviously the best toys ever created. Along with some hi-tech electronics, like a sanyo portable cd player, that are now worth pocket change.

But those karate fighters (Goddamn were they awesome) reminded us of this show we used to watch after the glory days of American Gladiators. It was like WWF mentality, only clean cut, and with ninjas/karate masters instead, where they'd come out and do a bunch of fake fights all around this crazy arena, and there would be all these ninjas and shit too. It was the fucking BOMB of trash tv. Can anyone remember what it was called?

WMAC Masters? If that's the one, it's back. I wish I could figure out how to get Nickelodeon GaS here, there seem to be a few classic Nick channels, and I want 'em, dang it.

That might be it, but the internet isn't showing me enough about it for me to tell you wether or not it is. If it helps, I think it was on UPN 9 back in the day, but I'm not sure. It was definitely on public tv.

LotHT....wow. Just wow. The groan he makes when he lowers the gate, the phrase "Extra Life," the cheesy competitions and the AWFUL host. It's awesome when the hosts fuck up. And when they say awful shit like, after describing a game, "My mother used to make me set the table like that..."

Just beautiful. I couldn't stop laughing.

I remember few actually beating the temple.

Oh, yeah.
One time, I saw like, the Silver Pythons, or whatever beat the shit outta the Temple.
I mean, they whizzed through it like a stroll through the park.

This one girl just did it all by herself. She was like strolling through. Neither of us thought she'd make it, but she found no guards at all, and pretty much walked straight through. It was unbelievable. A bahaman trip just for that shit. Amazing.

I always wished Olmec would suddenly flip out and shoot lasers out of his eyes and say I'M AN ANCIENT DIETY, YOU TELL THEM THE FUCKING RULES, PUNY MORTAL!

Nick GAS has all the game show type stuff, Guts, Double Dare, LoTHT, Nick Arcade, and the sports shows like Wild and Crazy Kids and SK8TV.

Nicktoons is by far the better of the two and has all the Nicktoon shows, in addition to Spongebob and a few originals, they have lost classics like Rocko's Modern Life and The Angry Beavers.


They Still need a channel for the old comedies like You Can't Do that on TV, Salute Your Shorts and Welcome Freshmen....

That show was scary, when we were young, so it must be hilarious now.

WMAC Masters hosted by Bruce Lee's daughter. Liu Kang from Mortal Kombat 2 was on that show.

Nick Toons rocked
