I really desire a "Piston Honda" animated gif...I dont know why.

when you originally make an animation in any gif program you have to assign a number value(that represents the millisecond delay) between frames.
most of the time it's naturally on "0" and moves at a ridiculously fast speed. just check the "edit timing" option to mess with it. if you need any more help with gif movie gear, just pm or im me.

due to a huge outpouring of requests from the members of silenthillforum.co.uk, i've been making a literal "fuck ton" of SH3 animations. this has been taking up a majority of my time as of late and is the reason why the update hasnt come sooner(as originally planned).
being that i love me some sh3(heather = hawt), and that these guys/gals want anything i can come up with, i've decided to do the following(pay attention, as this will make traversing the update easier):
Cinema Scenes:

These will be smaller than your average gif(maximum of 256 pixel width), as there are a TON of frames(usually long scenes, facial expresions, transitional pieces, etc). You can probably expect a good 25-30 of these by the time I'm done.
Heather animations:

These are your typical 424 pixel-wide idle or repeating(read: looping) attack animations that people will be using/editing for their own signatures(throw a spooky film filter overlay, add some text and you got yourself a bitchin sig image). Since the game is fairly story driven, these will be fewer of these compared to the cinema scenes, as I'm attempting to get good shots from the waist up in different locales(both normal and 'other world' areas).

Monsters, death scenes(sewer monster for example), spooky stuff(valtiel, world transitions, etc) and more.
If everything works out(since i am using the pc version, i might be able to snap an animation of the hidden valtiel/fukuro lady "love fest" in the alternate hospital(im currently messing with a sh3 camera hack, which makes looking through walls possible).

Whitefolks, I'm gonna bother you again.
I want to ask you what the best method is of handling per-frame effects to animations. I made this one:

...and it was a pain in the ass setting the mode from Index to RGB and moving the text layer over from frame to frame as individual GIFs in Photoshop. What do you use?
EDIT: Cut some frames. Much smoother.

Those silent hill animations are really nice. I have to wonder, how do the pc games hold up to their console counterparts?

To do text overlays what you need to do is find the frames that you want to edit, take those and edit them in photoshop(using CTRL+H shows the "grid" that allows you to allign text overlays so they stay similar).
Unless there's a gif editor that i'm not aware of that allows on the fly text overlays; that's what you gotta deal with.
regarding SH: pc versions > console versions. hands down. higher resolution display, higher resolution textures, etc.
