Hey, for those who doubt a Halo 2.5, check out this logic.

Do you really think that Bungie is gonna have enough time with BRAND NEW HARDWARE to push out a Halo 3 at launch? No, ain't no way. How many gamers were pissed at the length and ending of Halo 2? Most. How long would it take to cook up a couple new levels and finish the game with a slight bit more polish on the graphic end? Not long.

Microsoft cannot launch their next system without some sort of Halo. Bet on a Halo 2.5 upon system release, giving Bungie time enough to really unlock the new hardware. And when PS3 and Revolution launch, drop the price of the NeXbox and launch Halo 3. Now THAT is what you call a game war the likes of which we haven't seen since SNES v. Genesis.

Thats if they get off their ass and make a game. Lets not forget so quickly that Halo 2 is technically unfinished, and Bungie spend the better part of 2003 doing jack shit (watch the video that came with Halo 2). Thats why its Halo 3, and honestly, I'd doubt even a finished Halo 2 by launch.

My prediction: Halo 2.5 doesn't exist. Bungie is devoting resouces to either Phoenix or Halo 3 (and Microsoft's money says Halo 3). Instead, I predict we'll see an online only Halo 2 follow up to encourage XBL adoption on the XB2. Bungie had four guys dedicated to the multiplayer portion of Halo 2. I figure it'd be easy enough to grab those guys and a few more to tweak textures, models, etc. for the XB2 chipset, maybe add some weapons, and add quite a few maps and some new modes (and if the XB2 isn't backwards compatible, port the Halo 2 engine to work on the XB2).

Include that with the XB2 XBL starter pack, and you'll see some bites. And a lot of bitching about "rehashes."
