I was at the game and started a bring back Benitez chant in the bleachers after the 2 homers. :lol:Quote:

I've never been so confused by the Yankees front office, what with letting Lieber walk then giving Jaret Wright his money, signing Tony Womack for second base and passing on Beltran (although he is vastly overpaid) only to move Womack to the outfield in the first month of the season and bring up Cano. They need to get on making a case for voiding or buying out Giambi's contract now and let Andy Phillips platoon at first with Tino, leave Cano at second, do whatever it takes to drop Kevin Brown and let Sean Henn and Ching Ming Wong pitch after Randy, Pavano and Mussina every 4th and 5th day. I'm tired of seeing guys like Ted Lilly, Brad Halsey, etc. do well on other teams.
Thats to be determined in a few years. I think he'll pay for himself pretty easily.Quote:

I really wish I'd gone down to Arlington tonight; blew off an invitation from a cute girl and everything because I don't want to get pulled over and have to pay for my expired registration. I hear it's $200...
Anyway, fun game to watch on TV. That A-Rod for Soriano trade has to be one of the better trades ever made; both teams got what they wanted.
Sox are on a roll. It's only a matter of time before they take over first in the east. I was getting tired of people dissmissing them because they spent two weeks at .500. They have the best offense in baseball even if nobody wants to admit it (yes better than Baltimore, they've scored the most runs in the majors). ESPN has them 9th in the power rankings, even though the Sox have as good a record or better than all but three of the teams ahead of them. They're even behind the Angels, and the Angels are playing terribly. I know it's cool to root for baltimore and the white sox, i'm rooting for them too, but the analysts need to stop letting "the story" cloud thier vision of the truth. The Sox should be at least 3rd or 4th in the power rankings.
The stats:
runs: 1st
Avg: 3rd
Slugging: 2nd
OBP: 1st
starters ERA: 2nd - even with Curt and Wells pitching poorly/not at all
The Red Sox are definitely rising up nicely without Schilling and Wells. Arroyo is coming into his own as well. You do however have to worry about Foulke..he's been just awful. You can't expect the team to bail him out all the time so he's gotta step it up.
Now I was just looking at stats and occasional highlights..so what have you noticed about Foulke and why he's been doing so poorly?? Velocity? Location??
"but the analysts need to stop letting "the story" cloud thier vision of the truth."
Well, seeing as how their last two games were on total blown saves by the same crappy pitcher, I don't think they're really that good right now.
Foulke is saying it's location, but i don't think anyone really knows why he's doing this poorly. I hope he gets it turned around soon because the sox need him. With the Os and Jays doing well and the Yankees coming out of thier funk the AL East is the toughest division in baseball by far.Quote:

Question for the Mets fans: Heilman, is he for real? He's been putting up some nice numbers lately.
yes. because one player is slumping that makes the whole team not very good. Nevermind the fact that they won the games anyway because they have the best offense.Quote:

Second of all, the AL East is probably not even good as the *NL* East, let alone "by far the best division". In fact, you don't seem to know much about baseball outside of the Red Sox, which makes you a sucky bandwagon fan.
