Way to ruin classic characters :td:
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
I'm going to enjoy watching this crash and burn.
GOT DAMN.
that's hot.
You have got to be fucking kidding me! Chuck Jones just had his grave shit upon by whatever Anime-fucking wannabe drew up that heap of rubbish.
Cartoons lack so much heart now its disgusting. Every show has this notion of trying to be cool rather than be fun.
I swear to god if I see Buggs Bunny do ninja moves, and have special powers I am going to bust up into Warner Bros. with a whole mess of Moltov Cocktails.
Oh God. I can't stop cringing. HE'S FUCKING XBOX COLORED FOR CHRIST'S SAKE!
Thats the worst part, hes black and green! If he were drawn the same, but with his usual colors the shock would be lessend. Buggs is a comedian, and I see nothing funny coming from this bastard.

Warner Bros. has created angular, slightly menacing-looking versions of the classic Looney Tunes characters for its new series, dubbed "Loonatics" and set in the year 2772. Names for the new characters haven't been finalized, but they are likely to be derived from the originals: Buzz Bunny, for example. Each new character retains personality quirks of the original. The new Bugs, for example, will be the natural leader of the Loonatics' spaceship; the new Daffy will remain confident that he is the one who should be in charge.
this explains why it's going to be totally awesome!Quote:
The plots are action-oriented, filled with chases and fights. Each character possesses a special crime-fighting power.
I miss classic WB "chase and evasion" cartoons...
It sucks that most new cartoonists watch way too much anime, Japan really owns most of nerd culture :(
ah fuck.
No, no, no, no, no...this is not good, not at all. Crime fighting skills? Great, it's green and black Batman, with sharp, flapping ears.
They're crime-fighting superheroes in the future? WTF?!
This is WB's worst decision since they thought Pinky and the Brain needed Elmyra. He can't even hold carrots without slicing them to shreds.
and every show fails miserably at itQuote:

I'd rather watch 100 episodes of Totally Spies back to back than 2 of Teen Titans. (and one of Kim Possible)

Wah wah wah. It's just a spinoff with tangentially related characters, no worse than Tiny Toons. It probably won't have the groan-inducingly dated references that had, either (Welcome to the 90's! I'm Downtown Babsy Brown!).
This couldn't possibly be any worse than most of the projects Looney Tunes have been involved in for about the past 20-odd years, barring maybe Duck Dodgers (though even that could be considered average at best). This certainly won't tarnish their name any worse than Back in Action, Space Jam, Bugs Bunny's Arabian Nights, or whatnot.
This makes me seriously ill. I'm going to have to watch more of my Looney Tunes Golden Collections to get over the deep hurt that this causes me.
Seriously, someone at WB needs to have their kneecaps broken for this shit.
This is terrible.
I need to get those DVD sets: my children will be raised on uncut violent and racist cartoons, and they will love it.

This is the same hopeful optimism that was given to the new TMNT show on Foxbox. Wat happened? It tanked.
There was no reason for this. Doesn't the WB already have Pokemon and Yu-gi-oh? Don't they get some pretty decent ratings from that?
They're making Daffy into Starscream?Quote:

I agee with some of his points, but man oh man, I am EXTREMELY skeptical about this. We'll just have to wait and see.
It can't be any worse than Baby Looney Toons, that's for sure.
Furthermore, I fucking love Space Jam, damn it, as well as Teen Titans. Totally Spies, while not being the greatest cartoon ever made, isn't trash either. The new TMNT isn't garbage either, there are a lot of good things in there, and as for Kim Possible, that show is really hit or miss with me.
Come one guys get on the bandwagon.
This is Loony Toons to the eXtreme. XTREME.
Is there a Teen Titans thread? If there isn't I'm making one.
Baby Looney Tunes was a joke. A joke that has outlived its welcome.
well, if the kids think it's good, then it MUST be good, right?Quote:
With "Loonatics," Warner Bros. thinks it may have TV's next blockbuster cartoon on its hands. "The reaction by kids in test groups has been phenomenal," says Mr. Schwartz.
because i believe the children are our future. teach them well and let them lead the way. show them all the beauty they possess inside. give them a sense of pride.
And if it sucks, we can just blame the jews.

I care not. Looney Tunes were never that funny to me. In fact, most of the trashiest people on this planet love Taz and Tweety Bird, along with Betty Boop. All stupid, boring characters (although, the Taz game for Genesis was pretty cool).
Now, if they kill people in gruesome ways, I'll watch it.
"Oh MY God, Bugs fucking Bunny just ripped that man's spine out!"
Nice opiate for the masses.
Im gonna go away and cry right now.
Taz and Tweety Bird are both shitty. But how can you deny the greatness of Bugs? Wil E. Coyote and Roadrunner? That is great stuff.Quote:

The most vivid memory I have of any of these cartoons was that my dad also really liked them, it was one of the few things we've had in common at all.
That new bugs bunny seems stupid as shit and its a shame that the original cartoon's style and sense of humour will be lost pretty much forever to a new generation of growing kids, no wonder why so many of them are little punks thesedays.
hahaha nice comparison.Quote:

Anything that has Lola in it doesn't give me high hopes for its quality.
There's a flash movie somewhere that shows a clip of Bugs in some serious voice saying "What's up.......DOC!"
It was on the 5 o'clock news.

This totally sucks. It reminds me of an old Bugs Bunny cartoon where these carrots fell from outer space, and opened up like capsules. These twitchy, two-dimensional, polygonal versions of the characters came out, and they were trying to kill Bugs. I never realized the symbolism.
i see three daffu ducks and 2 bugs bunnys in that pictureQuote:

You have got to be kidding me. Thanks for taking a dump on the headstones of the Termite Terrace animators, idiot WB execs!!! "Gentleman, let's take these tried and true characters and turn them into a weird Genndy Tartakovsky rip off action show with a 'kids next door'/samurai jack flavor!" These idiots are probably stupid enough to think it's a good idea when they watch the Simspons and hear Comic Book guy refer to the imaginary "Snowboarding Batman" figure. Hey, why not turn that into a series too, guys! Can the person who actually has to draw and write this junk take it seriously? If I were a writer, producer or animator for the "re-imagined" Looney Tunes I'd feel like a total loser at the absolute bottom of the animation industry's ladder.
Oh man, and to think some animation snobs thought the new Duck Dodgers series was mediocre. Watched it last night and I lreally like it (not as good as the amazing original short of course though but how could it be...). Now it seems like a lifesaver compared to this crap. Looney Tunes Back in Action is way better than this terrible idea too.
LOL! Learn about life bud. While I agree with you that the cartoons will probably not be good (as I said in my original post) the animator probably has a family to take care of. He doesn't care if he's working on looney tunes or a cartoon where a robot fights a fish to the death. It's his job to animate, it's what he knows. There's no reason he'd feel like a loser.Quote:

 C'mon, I know that. I don't disrespect anyone who works on this hsow to provide for their family, I guess I went a little overboard. But if I was an animator who cared more about my work and had a real passion for it, you better believe I'd be wanting to use my skills elsewhere.Quote:

Wow, let's take the Looney Tunes characters and mix them with the Ninja Turtles, brilliant. It's times like this it is all the more sweeter to hear Matt Groening and his colleagues make fun of Fox execs. Too bad we don't have any commentaries of Chuck Jones and his crew making fun of WB suits. Those could be a volume unto themselves.
quick preview:
http://www.toonamiarsenal.com/misc/l...icsPreview.mov
That preview killed whatever iota of hope for this show I had in me.
That preview could be complimented by saying it is absolutely terrible. It's an abomination and embarassment to any of the classic WB cartoons.
That preview makes me smolder with generic rage.
It looks like a flash movie/comic book. I will admit it looks better than I thought ,but my hopes are still pretty low.
I like that cool orange glow when they get covered in ink.

Hell, the quick "action" clips they stole were from The Batman, episode "Bats in the Belfry" (the beginning when Bats takes on Rupert Thornes thugs with the numbchucks). Is this show that shitty that it has to steal other shows scenes to make it look good? Unless Batman is going to be starring in this and I didnt know....(he fucking better not be)
well, WB does own the rights to Bats so...Quote:

I think if WB just put the old shows back on their line-up and give this new generation of kids the chance to warm up to them, things would be better off. And hell, the older folk would watch because they are classics.
Yea. You're right. The younger kids haven't really experienced real Cartoons until they watch hours and hours of classic Loony Tunes.Quote:

The new artwork keeps the color schemes for the characters but discards the angular and slightly menacing look for something that has a bit more anime styling to it. Additionally, the network seems to be making it clear that the series is "inspired by" the classic cartoons and that the characters are descendants -- not reworked versions of the originals -- presumably due to the protest of the characters' styles. Additionally, as noted before, the name of Buzz Bunny has been changed to Ace Bunny, due to the name "Buzz Bunny" already being used for a decidedly maturely rated product. As stated in the Loonatics press release, the characters get their powers from "cosmic dust."
The voice cast and lineup for the series has also been announced, featuring veteran US voice actors for the main roles and a healthy dose of guest stars that range from stage and screen actors (Tim Curry, Vivica A. Fox, Michael Clarke Duncan, and Florence Henderson) to industry veterans (Tom Kenny and Phil LaMarr).
The Loonatics, along with the characters that inspired them, are as follows:
Ace Bunny (ancestor: Bugs Bunny/voice: Charlie Schlatter): quick witted leader who has martial arts and "laser-lock vision"
Lexi Bunny (ancestor: Lola Bunny/voice: Jessica DiCicco): second in command who can blast things with her mind and has hyper hearing
Danger Duck (ancestor: Daffy Duck/voice: Jason Marsdsen): arrogant duck who resents Ace and wants to lead the team: can teleport and toss "magical energy spheres"
Spaz B. Wilde (ancestor: Tasmanian Devil/voice: Kevin Michael Richardson): the destruction expert who can destroy things with deadly tornadoes and super strength
Rev Runner (ancestor: Road Runner/voice: Rob Paulsen): a super fast talker who has embedded GPS technology and the ability to race at superspeeds
Tech E. Coyote (ancestor: Wile E. Coyote/voice: Kevin Michael Richardson): supergenius who is the team's gadget guru -- also has regenerative abilities, electromagnetic powers, and "mechanical mastery"
Zadavia (voice: Candi Milo): the mentor of the Loonatics who sends them out on missions
Loonatics will premiere this fall on Kids WB.

It's actually getting better.
No...its not.
and since when do Wile E Coyoyte and the Road Runner talk?
The character design is a lot better... but the special abilities and shit, thats lame.
Haha, Taz is totally gay.
Looney Tunes sucks anyway. This is why I don't watch TV.
Wow. It got worse.
Not going to watch this. :yuck:
It looks like they are mixing Justice League, Powerpuff Girls and Looney Toons all in one package. I like the designs but it's a lame idea that sort of craps on the classic toon personalities.
They are indeed looking like they are smoldering in generic rage.
It looks like bad furry art. (which means it's twice as bad)
Cosmic Dust. I hope i'm not the only one pointing out drug references when the show releases.Quote:

Those look bad, and I usually LOVE it when new artists interpret other artists work. This just look bad. The reason I'm saying this isn't so much the idiotic looking Star Trek outfits they're sporting but the ridiculously overused cocky smirk that EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM has on their face.
I still love the fact that the redesign only happened because the media went nuts and thought they were replacing the original Looney Tunes.
That's cute, they each have their own exteme colors.

Loonatics has many of the same problems that plagued Avengers. Horrible voice acting (you will cringe at Ace BunnyŐs voice), spotty animation (the eyes donŐt look right), inane plotting, and characters that just barely rise to the level of stereotype. It even has a line of obviously toyetic creations devised by the Coyote.
The animation is astoundingly cheap. Backgrounds are cribbed from other Warner shows, which serves to highlight the absolute lack of ambition and talent behind this embarrassment.
