Try to get some crazy character designs going. Don't worry about how weird or out there they may be (antler bazooka man or something like that) to push the limits of your creativity. If you like one you can always scale them back and make them decent.

Good stuff though I like it. You have a clean style.

This is a good idea, maybe it will get me to be more productive.

Sounds like something from Kamen rider. They took random things(animals, or... TVs) and combined them with random weapons to create characters like Machine gun armadillo or something.

I really REALLY like those.

Did this one yesterday while on my 20 minute break at work.

ok, gonna scan and dump some work after class tonight.

I just got a intuos3 (6x8) and mucked around in MS Paint for 5 minutes :)

I think I'm slowly getting used to it, but it feels fucking weird... next stop... Corel Paint watercolours.

I'm going to add in a few things I did today and yesterday. I've started drawing again, for some reason.

Corel Painter oil of my sister's Finding Nemo toy. I only noticed afterwards that CP's JPEG compression sucks dick :(

This is the color version of the above picture. First time I've made a serious attempt at coloring my art. While it didn't turn out 100% the way I wanted, what I learned is definitely paying off with the next one.

I just finished a project on Cambodia so I have lots of that stuff lying around now, but this is the only one I like. Doing historical non-fiction comics is pretty fun, I might try some more.

That's kinda freaky because I was doing sketches of fetuses turning into trees a couple days ago.

I don't think I'll post the Cambodia comic. It's really more like a report with pictures that I drew about the subject. Most of the best ones I've already posted.

Well, this thread really inspired me, but my lack of drawing ability has made me turn to a different outlet. I'm writing a story based in an RPG about an anonymous guard who finds out that the hero is due to arrive in his area in 2 weeks. Being basically levelling fodder, he's destined to die when the hero's party arrives. He slowly turns away from conforming to the rules of an anonymous guard in an effort to survive, much to the dismay of the people he's working for (not to mention the hero's party). Lots of shit happens as a result.

Okay. So... at the rate I'm going, super cliqued ultra-contrast, my brother's t-shirt will be totally black, as well as the booth seat. That would cause him to blend with the background completely. I'm going to have to go totally black with the t-shirt, but I was thinking maybe making the booth like... diamond-y or something. Anyone want to help me out? =/

I almost forgot. Painted this in one day for this toogorgeoustobereal girl. She digs the FMA and has a birthday tomorrow. Only thing is it was scanned in pieces, meaning the levels on some look off.

Trust me though - I hate gouche (which I used) and can honestly say something in this clicked, and it's better than anything else I've done with these paints. Even when taking weeks to work on it!

I bought a wacom tablet recently and today I drew up some concept art for a monster that'll star in a movie I'm involved with (composer, co-everything, just not behind the camera). Its a little like a more human version of a shambler.

I know what you're thinking, but we're approaching this movie very seriously. My friend is 2 weeks off buying the camera we're using (same type they shot 28 Days Later with), and all up we're looking at spending around $20000 on the film in total.

I don't want to give too much away as I hope to be selling you all copies of it (lol), so lets just say its not gonna be like any other horror movie on earth (FOR REALS).

That sounds exciting.

I am interested to learn more and would like to see more pieces of concept art. I would also like to see big teeth monster guy drawn in a scarier style, as that style you did now makes it feel more like a cartoon (unless that is the vibe you are going for?).

Oil underpainting(oil is expensive,so I only have one color... burnt umber), and most of the painting was done in acrylic on top of it. Then color pencil for highlights and touch ups. It was done on illustration board.

Also, the ninth panel in your book project is quite nice.

And rezo - great stuff as always. I need to bust out the paints and a decent canvas one of these days and see what I can do. It has been years and years since I've painted anything and lately I've kinda missed it.

Finally scanned a few drawings from my sketchbook. The first is just some funky penguins. Then a sketch I did as a concept for a silkscreen I've posted before with the "bubble people". Next, more recently I decided to give the "bubble people" another shot. Then there's a funny old naked dude, and the last one is kinda lame and emo, but whatever.

I like the second "bubble people" composition the best. It's fun, yet disturbing. The texture the bubbles create is really nice, and keeps the eye moving even if you can't really figure out the picture.

Yeah, I agree, I really liked that second bubble pic.

My personal life has been kind of crazy for the last couple of months, but I have still been painting when I can. I have really been stepping up the work lately & I hope I can post some of it soon. Next month will be a year since I last posted something. :( I really hope to change that soon.

Guache is your friend, Rezo. I concur with other comments as to how Spiffy this work is. I have always liked Guache, but the fear of something that can always be ruined by moisture brings the coward out in me.

But I think it is the proper medium to create Adventure game backgrounds reminiscent of early DOS VGA productions. Seeing people replicate this effect brings much nostalgia, and it just doesn't work in any other paint medium.

You can spray it down with a fixative when you finish. All of mine are covered in an inch of impenetrable plastic... with a pretty strong odor that takes months to go away =\

Whipped this up real quick. Getting a much better handle on the tablet and I'm enjoying it more, I really just need to practice. I wish the colors on the LCD weren't so far off from the ones on a CRT, at the very least I need to find some way to mirror the screens with each other so that I can verify what color I'm really in the middle of using.

I know it is lame to just post that stuff is coming, but I really do have some stuff I'll be putting up soon. A friend is lending me a Digital cam tomorrow, so I may have quite a few new pieces up by tomorrow night.

Can't you get a second video card cheap and have both displaying at the same time? My tablet pc's colors are a little off as well, but it has a built in dual display option so I can doublecheck my colors when I'm ready to finish it off.

Probably. It's never been an issue before so I've never tried or looked into it, all I've seen so far is extending the desktop across screens.
