I think that you're probably just being affected by the jaundiced eye of TNL, man. I wouldn't really worry about it beyond this thread and the various responses. I mean, I'm a really skeptical guy and I rather frequently (and, in most cases, with joy) point out that most folks are dumb.

That's here, on TNL, where we're a fraternity of sorts and even the serious conversation is light-hearted - with the exception of political discourse, obviously. In the real world, instead of just cordoning those dumb folks off and condemning them, I would love to have the resources and the time to help them rise up and get a bigger piece of the American dream.

I don't think what you're getting down about is a problem the black people in America face alone. Mman was making a joke about the marketing to the kids, but really, lower-class kids will buy into the "bling bling" bullshit much easier than upper-class kids - even if upper-class kids listen to 50 Cent they don't really adopt the lifestyle that goes along with the music, instead preferring to imitate only the "funny" stuff.

Anyway, I'm pretty sure it would be more than noticed if black people just suddenly packed up and left, ala the dolphins in So Long and Thanks For All the Fish. :)
