DVD players are cheaper and more user friendly. UMD movies will be $20 minimum. Why not buy the same movie at the same price or less instead of buying one for home and anothermore expensive version on the go. Many people have told me to rip movies to Memory sticks instead. Then I saw the price of a memory stick and that is just as much of a scam.I could buy a 3rd party 1 gig stick that will cost between $75-$150 bucks and then rip it to a stick. Their is the DS,GBASP,N-Gage etc. handhelds out there. Nothing on the PSP line-up completely outshines anything on the GBA or DS line-up. Also the GBA 2 will be coming out in 2 years and I plan on saving money for that. It will be near impossible constantly having to buy UMDs and memory sticks to maintain my current and growing library of Mp3s list, large DVD libarary and if I buy the PSP $50 dollar Portable games.

The PSP launch line-up kicks the DS' fucking ASS. Lumines, Ridge Racer, Wipeout Pure, Twisted Metal Head On, Metal Gear Acid, Death Jr., Mercury. Those are sure fire quality games. The DS launched with Super Mario 64 DS, Madden Football, Asphalt Racing, The Sims: Urbs, Feel the Magic and SpiderMan 2. Now, the DS also has: Zoo Keeper, Sprung, Mr. Driller and Wario Ware Touched. In the span of three months, the DS now has 11 games. The PSP will not only surpass the DS in quantity, but also quality of games in the first two months. I have a DS and I love it, but the PSP right now has a much, MUCH better line up of games and future game releases.
And don't drag the GBA 2 into this. We know nothing about that, and for all you know it could cost $300 and use some useless video format such as UMDs and you'll gush all over that like the fanboy you are.

Average? I'm hard pressed to believe that you haven't quite done your research. The PSP has been said... has been said to have better playback quality than the iPod in most respects. How true this is, I do not know, but this has been widely known for the better part of the PSP's launch. Check the GAF boards. There are raving lunatics on that board that will defend the playback quality on the PSP to the death. Apparently, people on GAF do not settle for "average".Quote:

You have a link to show the Ipod ability is inferior to the PSPs? I have not seen read or seen one report that claims the PSP has the best quality mp3 playback on the market. The Ipod Shuffle may not appeal to you ,but the randomness is very appealing to many people. How come a random button is basically mandatory in every CD Player? People enjoy the randomness.Quote:

The quality of the PSP movie playback is great. The cost of maintaining a decent at best library when your are constantly buying $150 sticks to put 2 or maybe 3 movies on it is the killer for them.
