I'm not Haoh so I can't say for sure, but it doesn't sound like this is some unexpected recent development in their relationship (the having issues with each other, I mean). It's not like a couple problems came up and then he decided he'd rather be with someone else and *BAM* swift breakup right to poon. If this has been an ongoing problem then there's a good chance they've already been "broken up" for a long time and this is simply the final nail in moving on.

You make it sound as though they had issues and are running without trying to resolve them, but if things have been on a downward spiral since marriage I doubt that's the case.
