Cream soda and root beer are about the only two sodas I like at all (can't stand Mountain Dew or colas). Tough call, but I'm gonna have to say root beer. Nothing beats a cold, bottle IBC root beer or a float.
I worked at this place in Alaska that made their own cream soda and root beer, and both were the most amazing of each that I ever had.
Funny sidenote story: this place I worked at had both root beer and regular beer in kegs, but the root beer kegs had a red stripe, while the regular beer kegs had a pink stripe. Anyway, this one employee thinks its a good idea to steal a keg of beer for a party, and actually manages to do it, but they tap the keg at the party and what do you think comes out? Yep, root beer. I wasn't there unfortunately, but God damn do I wish I was.
Frosty's Root Beer (I'm guessing they're a local outfit) is without a doubt the ULTIMATE in soda.
Cream soda is better, but I get sick of it quicker than I do with root beer.

I like them both, but for some reason I very rarely buy Cream Soda at the store. Maybe I just glance over it all of the time, and I just forget to look for it.<shrugs>

To be honest, I can't stand either, but if I had to choose I'd probably go with root beer. I don't like the drink itself, but I do like those little root beer-flavored candies.

I heard cream soda is a bit different in the states then it is here (basically up here it's pink-coloured vanilla soda), but I'll always have a soft spot for a nice cold A&W.

For work some German guys came over to do some business. We went to A&W one day for lunch. They hated the rootbeer (A&W has a tap onsite and chilled mugs). Said it tasted like toothpaste or fluoride.
I told em maybe if they would brush their teeth more often they could tell the difference.
IBC rootbeer is weak and bland. I feel sorry if you dont have a local brewery that makes better stuff.

Remember my thread in Fight Club where people were complaining I was being a jerk, more than usual? (i'm usually 1/2 and 1/2) Well I was working at a factory then pulling 12 hour night shifts, and I really got a taste for gingerale when I was working there. It really tastes good, and is light so it doesn't bog you down when you need to get to work (mental or otherwise). I like the taste a lot, and up here in Canada we get a killer gingerale called Canada Dry, it's absolutely the greatest gingerale in the world hands down.Quote:

I just had a bottle of Mug root beer last night. I forgot how shitty that stuff is. Tastes like those barrel-shaped root beer candies, not real root beer. Their cream soda tastes like it's nothing but sugar and is also somewhat foul. If you're anywhere near NEPA, try to get some Lion Brewery root beer. Excellent stuff.
If you're anywhere near NEPA, you also probably have a Wegmans nearby, and you know the king of store brand soda. Dr. W and Mountain W forever. Sam's Choice soda is also good too. Cheap as shit and it tastes good. But most people who buy carbonated beverages are stupid and don't know that RC Cola is awesome, either.
