Ok, here's the deal. I was running out of HD space on my ibook G4 so I was deleting a bunch of stuff. I accidently deleted (and emptied out of my trash) my entire itunes folder including much music that I paid for.
However, all of the music is still on my ipod. Is there anyway to transfer it back onto my ibook? Any programs I can use if I can't using itunes? Free programs are prefered but if I must pay some to get 12 gigs of music back, then, well, so be it.

Could any of you guys shed more light on how these things work? I ask because my girlfriend doesnt know shit about iPods, and plugged hers into her friends when she was back north. She thought it was just gonna append to her library but it overwrote it. But she doesnt wanna get rid of any of those songs now. I want to transfer them to her comp, then put them on her iTunes, and proceed normally.

01. Put her iPod into disk mode.
02. Transfer the songs to her iPod.
Without actually giving iTunes the opportunity to overwrite the music she already has in the iPod.
So, will these softwares let me do that? or do I have to cancel the iTunes update as soon as it starts?
I don't know about the PC version of iTunes, but it may be possible to stop the update and then transfer the songs. If you have it set to automatically update, it will do that as soon as the iPod shows up.
That marks the first person I've ever heard of using automatic update.
