How do you controll him while he's in mid air?
You click your mouse and the girl comes and hits him again. You have 3 angle up (red) ones and the angle down one refills with air time.
Yeah, I saw this a few days ago. It took a while to figure it out.
You click the mouse once to select the angle, but don't release the mouse button, cause the next thing is to select the power level. You do that by holding the mouse button down and releasing it when it's as close to 100% or whatever power you want.
Then you have four powerups you can use, three angle ups and one angle down (which seems to refill under certain circumstances, which I'm not sure about). Just click the mouse to use them. You can use them only when you're of a certain height in the air. Go too low and you can't use them.
There's several different people who do different things when you hit them:
Girl with glasses - stops you no matter what momentum you've got. AVOID HER AT ALL COSTS!!
Guy in white shirt/blue pants - he seems to do one of three things: slow you down, or change your angle up or down.
Girl with brown dress - punches you forward angle down (or horizontally)
Girl in school outfit - punches you forward angle up (or vertically)
Girl in white shirt/blue skirt - kicks you forward
Girl in blue dress - blocks the next person you hit. with exception being the guy, for some reason.
There are also special attacks to use, but I'm not sure how they work yet.
My highest was around 4500m but it's highly possible to do better.
Ok, my best thus far is 4039.49m.
What I've figured out so far.
Aerial Angle:
You only get three upward angles and they can only be used when you are decsending and above the green bushes (the AERIAL indicator will be hi-lighted in red to indicate availability). Use these to avoid the STOP girl (although you may not want to avoid her in a specific case, more on that in a sec).
The aerial down angle special refills as you desend so you can pretty much use it anytime you want when it hits 100%. The trick is that you can only use it while you are ascending (the aerial indicator will be hi-lighted in blue when it's available). If your timing is good you can use this to crash into a specific character and give yourself a boost.
Specials:
Depending on which of the power characters you hit you get special combo that gives you mad speed and height.
The trick to specials though is that you have to hit specific characters consecutively without hitting the ground and click the mouse button the instant it's available because you only get a split second to use them.
The SPECIAL indicator in the upper right shows you which character you need to hit to start a combo.
Power combos:
School Girl Shoryuken-The school girls will send your ass into the stratosphere if you hit them one after the other. In fact, if the two of them are adjacent to each other you can actually start a combo just by hitting one of them because the one will send you flying horizontally into the other.

Samurai Blaster Combo-If you can hit the chesnut haired girl with the long pink dress twice in a row, she'll go all ninja on your ass and send you into orbit. I got at least 10 seconds of hang time from this combo alone.
UPDATE: Apparently this is the only combo where you can hit the ground and still get the special to work.

Stop Girl Launcher-Yep there are actually cases where you don't want to avoid the Stop Girl. It seems like you hit any of the other school girl characters before you hit Stop Girl you get a funny ass sequence where they all send you flying.

There's a combo involving Block Girl and one other school girl but I haven't gotten that one yet. I update when I do.
UPDATE:
Block Girl Power Up is a random power up (like Valgar explained below me) depending on which charcter you hit when the special bar says "Block vs. C.F.F.". This is the trickiest one to get because you never know which charcter will activate the vs. mode at a given moment.
Samurai girl Charge Blast Successive hits charge you up so should hit Stop Girl with no combo or just come to a stop, the charge will activate and send you flying.
Sailor girl Parachute Blast You sail along for a good 1000 m in a straight line then upwards.
Stop Girl Double Impact Every boost you receive sends you flying twice as far for up to three hits.
