Yes, but that is God. If men were half as good as God, any form of government would work.

Any political ideal can work of the indviudals that make up the society that uses it are up to the task of making it work.

But yeah I see your point and it does make sense. It also reminds me of a discussion I had with my dad. I think he called it ÒIvory towerÓ complex. Basically a person goes to school and he/she is surrounded by intelligent people in some form or another. Eventually he/she forgets that there is a large group of people out there who do not think like he/she does. At that point communism sounds great. Because in their Bubble of a world, everyone is smart, and works hard, and agrees with them on some level.

College is also a time where a lot of people do "soul searching" and want to know who they really are. The last thing people want to do at this point is blend into the background, be like everyone else. Different ideals or beleif systems are easy ways to set one apart and are something they feel like they can really "beleive in" or "be a part of".

I did that late middle school, early highschool. Fuck them for being late to the party.

The United States does not have a capitalist economic system. Anyone who told you that doesn't know what they're talking about. Neither pure capitalism nor pure communism works, it is only through a transumation of the two (socialism in varying degrees) that a system remain solvent and keep from explioting the workers to the point of revolt.

I think the real issue here is that IP has been making a lot of stupid Parcher D.O.D.-esque threads lately and needs to stop.
