Let me phrase it another way. You say that a lot of people consider math to be a language. So, for you to understand math, you would have to be able to think, no? How do you form a coherent thought, if not with the same language apparatus that allowed you to learn the rules of morphology, syntax, vocabulary, etc? You cannot even grasp what those mathematical symbols mean unless you have something about them internalized. How would you do that without language? This goes for all native speakers of all languages, mind you, not just English.Quote:

You are such a teacher. All of them spout that sort of shit. They act like their subject is the end all of all the subjects at the school. Every class is nothing but a means for their class. History teachers think everything is part of history, English teachers think English is the soul of humanity, Math teachers think they are the gods of modern society, science teachers think science is culmination of all the other subjects.
Doesn't this same thing happen at work? Few bosses in the real world care what else you have to do, when it comes to finishing something for work. It's called life. Learn to multi task, man!Quote:
When I say this, I don't mean it against you Melf, but teachers like that can kiss my ass. Assholes like that are why I end up having a paper due the same night that I get 60 calc problems to do, because you know "OMG THEIR CLASS IS THE WORLD."
