I'm planning on going to Best Buy with the CompUSA ad to see if they match it and give the additional 10% or whatever it is off of that.

BB has it for $30 + free $5 gift card. So essentially it's the same price either way.

I had to get Lab and Friends because of the minature schnauzer. Put in about two hours with it and I have to say it's a lot of fun. It's really cool when you're puppy starts knowing his name/learning tricks.

I can see me putting a LOT of time into this.

Last I checked, Best Buy no longer had the $5 coupons for anything but Xbox or PS2 games. :( Besides, if they price match then it's an additional 10% off. :D

Naw, that's not what I was referring to. As per this week's ad, they'll give you a $5 gift card when you buy Nintendogs.

So whats the deal with the different versions? Do you only get the cover dog?

There are like 5 or so dogs per version that you can get from the start. All versions allow you to get all dogs eventually, but you can only start from a select few.

-6 starting breeds per version
-starting breeds from the other two versions can be acquired either by amassing MANY trainer points, or by communicating with the other versions
-additionally, there are at least two "hidden" breeds - Jack Russell terrrier and dalmatian - which can be found in all versions
-each version has exclusive toys & accessories that can only be acquired in the others via communication with that version (ex: Mario Kart RC car, exclusive to Dachshund & Friends)

In short, it's Pokemon all over again.
