Kidnapped Italian Reporter Injured.

Brilliant. It needs a catchy name though. Something gritty, but remotely affiliated with the story.

Check it out - Super-Spy/secret-agent Nicola "Nico" Calipari (John Travolta), working for the Italian Intelligence, learns that his former love interest and War Journalist, Giuliana Sgrena (played with extreme one-dimensionalism by Denise Richards) is kidnapped by a terrorist faction (led by Gary Oldman) while on assignment.

After a vicious battle, they infiltrate the terrorist compound and manage to gain control of it, but not without a loss or two. The fat-guy of the group and a majority of the comic relief (Horatio Sanz) gets killed while saving everyone from a collapsing roof, and several others get killed off screen.

The surviving members of the team track down the terrorist leader, who is dragging the hostage journalist by knife-point towards his escape helicopter. Some words are said, the terrorist leader gets killed in an explosion somehow, and they grab the woman and pile into a nearby car (with it's keys in it) and attempt to make their way back to the check-point/embassy. Along the way, there is a huge chase involving several terrorist jeeps, culminating with a final showdown with the terrorist leader (who managed to survive) in his helicopter (that explodes). They notice more terrorist vehicles approaching and decide to gun it toward the check-point.

The (Non-American) soldiers manning the checkpoint see them approach and, thinking they are suicide bombers, gun them down in a hail of slow-motion bullet-barrage. Before dying, one of the others asked if they had accomplished their mission. Nico, with his last breath, looks at Giulana and says "Affirmative..."

A sad, depressing ending ensues, fast-foward 40 years to an aged Denise Richards looking at the graves of her rescuers, some kind of anti-war message at the end, and then fade to black.


- Throw in a few more explosions, some ninjas, and somehow work in a three-way with Denise Richards, and you've got a great popcorn flick to watch on Saturday.

Replace the leads with Tom Hanks and Nicole Kidman = OSCAR WINNER.

We were not a hidden car. We were just a car on the road with lights and we were not running without any signal. So you have to ask the Americans because we don't know what happened.

Did the Americans continue to fire when your car had come to a halt?

Our car was destroyed. And then the driver got out and was shouting "we're Italian, we're Italian". So they came and they saw what happened. But I was badly injured so I can't explain exactly what happened after because I was waiting for 20 minutes on the road for a military car to bring me to the hospital.

I don't know if they knew what they were doing or not but it's a big responsibility so they have to respond to what happened because it's impossible to shoot a car on a road to the airport without giving any signal, any stop or any check.
