It's like I ate a midget.
Did you cut your hair, Chewie? That was at least fifty pounds right there. ;)
Anyway, a lot of good stuff has been said in between the insults. Let me add that I was pretty much in shidoshi's area - lucky if I was 120 in my teens and early twenties. I put on and maintained the weight I have by eating three meals a day (solid meals, not like, "OMG, A POTATO AND WATER!" and not a shitload of food). If you eat too little and not often enough, like was said, your body goes crazy. If you eat too much, you're just taking in calories you don't need.
Now that you're getting older, ask your physician to recommend someone that can suggest dietary choices and make sure you're getting the right nutrients. Then, maybe, join a gym or something. I'm a good weight now, but I'm not strong or fit, so I joined the local gym to improve both of those conditions.
Good luck.
I'm 34 waist and, depending on the manufacturer of the slacks, 34 or 32 inseam. However, large shirts are way too long for me. Medium shirts are just right. :)Quote:

Ironplant, the first thing you need to get rid of is empty calories such as soda etc. If you switch to diet soda, after a couple of weeks you will think regular soda tastes nasty. Does your college offer workout classes? My favorite is spin class (the one with the bikes) it burns TONS of calories and is lots of fun. On the plus for you, spin class usually has lots of girls in it who are usually in good shape. Pilates is another good one; it's another chick magnet. To acheive weight loss you are going to have to workout at least 5 days a week. Stop eating out, those are the worst meals ever for weight loss. Buy yourself a cookbook and start cooking your own meals, then you can control the calorie and fat content.
I LOVE spin class. That shit kicks ass. We do it in the Base gym spinning room with the huge projector playing a clip of people biking uphill or on roads.
..and true about the girls in spin class..hehhehheh
Contrary to popular belief, switching from regular soda to diet soda isn't beneficial to losing weight. It has less calories and less sugar, but the fact that it uses fake sugar and a hell of a lot more preservatives and false additives negates the fewer calories and sugar. If you're going to lose weight, just don't drink any soda AT ALL. Even shit like Sierra Mist Free.Quote:

But I have a girlfriend and Im getting sex regularly, and I dont have time to actually go to the gym without sacrificing schoolwork or Rome: Total War time, so I dont really give a fuck. But yea, if I was single Id be freaking out. But I guess if I was single I wouldnt be drinking beer and partying as much. Anyway, for the fun I had Ill gladly take the extra 10 pounds that I can work off, memories are forever, right?
Thats college for you. But Im looking forward to going back to the gym and running. Around my house has nice, gradual hills that should be a good workout to run around.
if you can tell people how to do this when they live in a dorm that serves food and has absolutely NO access to a kitchen, then you deserve a Nobel Prize. This is bad advice.Quote:

Same with sethsez (although not AS bad). Its nearly impossible to eat 5 small meals in college because the meal times are set, and most of the time they dont let you bring food out of the dorm.
Honestly, I dont see how anyone can not gain weight in college. Its really really hard to maintain a healthy lifestyle and still succeed in your classes, especially if your major is not trivial. Im not saying that as a cop-out, its just reality. You see shows from schools like University of Central Florida and shit and everyone is gorgeous; because that school takes everyone and the classes are easy so they can just hit the gym. Not so for a tough school and a tough major.
So my advice, IP, is to run 3 times a week, gradually increasing your distance, and put down the french fries and pick up the salads in the cafeteria. DDR is also really good if you have access to it. Try the best you can to keep a consistent running schedule, but if you cant make it one day, because, like, you got a midterm the next day and really cant study, then just dont worry about it. If you do then you get all this pressure to "catch up" in your head and it wears on you.
