The best platform games nobody cares about but you

I don't want to see this thread turn into some "wai wai 2D forever 3D games have no soul ^______^" f*****-c*** festival, but I'm as bored as shit. I got kicked out of my dorm for a week for spring break, I'm holed up in my friend's filthy pad, and all I've got to keep me busy is the Complete Hitchhiker's Guide, a yo-yo, and my laptop. Fortunately for me I left my Playstation->USB converter and a controller in the bottom of my backpack from god knows when, and I'm in the mood for some games.

So, I come to you for advice. I'm looking for the best platform and/or action games from the 16 bit consoles or earlier I've never played. I've seen a couple that looked interesting in other threads that I'm going to seek out try. Mr. Gimmick, Magical Troll Adventure (or whatever the hell, I remember seeing it in Die Hard ads, I think), and whatever the SFC Milon's Secret Castle sequel was called. Doesn't need to be too obscure, just the stuff most people probably overlook. I can have fun playing Actraiser or Super Mario World or something, but I've already done it a hundred times over. I'm looking for something different that I've probably missed.

Feel free to list your favorites. Or don't, that's alright too.

But I will say that Low G Man always had a small place in my heart.

None of these are 16 bit or earlier, but thank you nonetheless. I've heard Hermie was decent, but dropping $40 on Welcome House has made me wary of anything that Dave Halverson actually liked. Clockwork Knight I played a demo of and enjoyed, I'd like to play more someday. Bug! was pretty fun of what I played, too. Wish I had the Saturn up here. But since I have no consoles available to me...

I haven't played any of the stuff suggested so far, but I think I'll try Low G Man, DoReMi, and Plok in a bit. Thanks guys. Looking forward to anything else anyone wants to chime in with. Maybe this'll distract me from the fact that I can't use the bathroom here because my friend's suitemate has been puking in it for over an hour. Awesome. I think I'm going to go shit off of the fire escape now.

I rather enjoyed Low G Man myself back in the day, but I don't know if it's something that would be fun today. Maybe I should check it out again.

Ikari Warriors, though it would never happen because SNK's 3D games always blow and I doubt they'll ever make something other than another installment of KOF/Samurai Shodown/Fatal Fury now.

edit: I guess technically Ikari Warriors isn't a platformer actually. :sweat:
