Play NiGHTS on GBA... via PSO?!

From PGC:

The big surprise in PSO is the N-link feature. PSO can hook up to a GameBoy Advance and download games to it. The 3 games shown were Chao Garden (just like in Sonic Advance), Puyo Pop, and NiGHTS. The game itself is almost exactly the same as the Saturn version. The Saturn game had circular levels and on the GBA they were just stretched out into a flat 2D space and when you reach the end you go right back to the beginning. Its great news to hear this classic is being revived.

Man oh man, I was wanting PSO on GC pretty badly (with no cheaters, hope it lasts), but this is just... Damn. I mean, it's just one speechless E3 announcement after another.

I was already probably going to get a Gamecube.. and I was strongly considering PSOEI&II... but if this is certainly making it a lot easier to get both.

Sneaky way of getting NiGHTS fans to buy a Gamecube and PSO tho, eh? Hopefully they'll be rewarded with a full-on GCN NiGHTS game too. :)

This is really cool, but it would be a lot better if it was a stand alone product and not linked to PSO. I mean, you can't exactly take this with you when go to the bathroom or go on a long car trip.

Well now this is some bittersweet news. As others have expressed, I'd have much preferred they just put it on a cart. My understanding is temporary download GBA software only lasts til you turn the power off right? So no Nights on the road. :(

Yeh, I think that's how it works....?

But I don't think it's bittersweet news.....

I look at it this way. Any NiGHTS is better than no NiGHTS because releasing anything and creating demand and interest makes it more and more likely that a full and complete new NiGHTS game will be released (most likely on either GBA or GCN - or both). :)

I'm willing to bet that Naka is toying with all sorts of ideas for a sequel as we speak. If I had created NiGHTS I'd still be thinking about it today, and what improvements I could implement with today's technology and ideas. I know that Aero NiGHTS didn't come to completion, however it's existance is proof enough that he was at one point still interested in the franchise. I think stuff like this is more proof.

the game plays exactly the same as the Saturn version. control feels indentical to it in every way.

if i was a fan of this game, i would be extremely excited cause it really does play just like it in every way.

That's an awesome bonus, now I HAVE to buy that official link cable at EB.
