18.03.05 - Sega works on the Actionspiel Gunstar super Heroes. That comes out from an appropriate trademark protection entry bem American patent office of 10.03.05. Whether the development is taken over as with the mega drive Gunstar Heroes (1993) also by Treasure, is unclear. Likewise still no platform is well-known. Release: TBA.
I'm convinced that Sega can ruin anything, even a sequel to a beloved actionspiel. But I'm interested in hearing more. Maybe.
I'd say there's a fat chance that Treaure is behind it.
Treasure is coming hot off the heels of doing two games with Sega. Their relationship with them is very good. I would be absolutely shocked if this wasn't being handled by the original Gunstar crew (all the key fixtures of the team are still at Treasure, there's no reason not to).Quote:

As for the platform, GBA would be the obvious guess, but given how quiet Treasure has been lately (considering they usually have 3 projects going at any given time) I wouldn't rule out the possibility of a console release.
I'm going to let myself be no more than interested in this game. The potential for disappointment is just too high.

C. Treasure has fallen almost as far as Sega since the original GH was released.
A 3d Gunstar Heroes would resemble Sin & Punishment which is a very good thing. A 2d Gunstar Heroes would be like the first game(Astro Boy felt a lot like their Genesis games so I know they still have it) which is a very good thing.Quote:

Just to be clear, I'm sure Treasure is behind it.
And I don't mind if they put of some original content as long as it's not crap. But yes making stuff, that wasn't nesessarily really bad like Gradius V, where they can't break to many rules isn't a good thing. But this would be their own creation so their hands wouldn't be as tied as they have been before.
But before I go all super joy over this announcement I need to know if it indeed is Treasure behind it and what hardware it's on. And then there's the 2d/3d thingy.
