Gunstar Super Heroes

I think it's a little disappointing that after almost 12 years Gunstar is getting a sequel on 16-bit hardware. This is probably the most wanted sequel Treasure has ever made. It's the franchise that put them on the map. I always expected if a Gunstar sequel was ever to be made it would go all out using current technology.

Still, I'm very thankful we're getting this game at all. I'm expecting it to kick ass anyway.

Maybe they could borrow the engine for the canned VectorMan game, slap on some Gunstar pixels and ship it on the PS2?

Arguable. If the GBA is powerful enough to pull off what they have in mind, then the rest is superficial. I'd rather it be on a system I have availible if that's the case.

Now if the game has major slowdown problems or flicker or whatever, then maybe you're right, but if not, I don't see the problem. Like Burning Rangers was probably too amitious for Saturn, but I don't think Radiant Silvergun would have been any more fun if it was on PS2. A good design is going to be a good design regardless. This seems to be an intentionally oldschool design, and I think GBA is up to it.

They should aim higher, I'm with Neo, I wanted the be all end all run'n gun. Something that would just blow my socks off with lush 2d graphics. Something that finaly kicked Metal Slugs ass, or atleast something stylish in 2.5d ie not Contra SS. But it's better than nothing at all( crap, I used to be kinda proud that I didn't have to be a bottom feeder like Castlevania fans etc), but you can't be serious about something like complaints about the d-pad being superficial?

I see your point, but I think this game will be good on GBA, just could be better on PSP. But as far as SALES potential, they'd be wasting it on PSP. At least it's not a DS game.

Sony might not be keen on the oldschool 2D on PSP, particularly for a lesser known franchise, also.

2D is dead in sony's eyes and in the case with nintendo, that issue is pending.

Anyone still remember why we didn't get AD&D on PS awhile back?
