Astro Boy had way more moves than a hori shooter/platformer needs, Dynamite Headdy had like a dozen dumb heads to keep track of and a first level tutorial that I remember took too long, Mischief Makers...been ages since I played, but it sucked and had weird puzzles, I just remember the controls sucking along with it, Radiant Silvergun has like 6 different shots and close range swords and shit, Alien Soldier is similar to Astro Boy with way too many commands to keep track of. Basically, Treasure takes a simple genre and prevents any sort of pick-up-and-play that better games usually allow. Oddly enough, Ikaruga, while one of their deepest games, is probably their simplest.
