For those of you who enjoy building models, just stop now.

I came upon this video in another forum. Basically, a man constructs a perfectly to scale Ferarri 312 PB (a race car) by hand, including a working engine and steering system. He says that it took him over 15 years--20,000 hours--to complete.

That's hardly as rewarding. I did a Perfect Grade RX-78-2 kit quite a few years ago and I loved every minute of it, and the result looks better than any Gundam figure I've ever seen on the shelf, is far more detailed, and I know that I put a lot of time and effort into it. I find the building is better than the actual displaying of such.

At least that guy knows that he'll be remembered long after he dies. Any museum worth anything would pay top dollar to be able to display that Ferrari model.

IAWTP. TRU was getting rid of a bunch of Zoids stuff last year and had them marked down for a pittance, so I bought some, assembled them, then just threw them out shortly after. There's no fun to be had once they're done, but they're a blast to put together, I got my money's worth.

I've always wanted to build a perfect grade mobile suit, but those things are damn expensive. Maybe I'll find one cheap at Comic Con this year.

I ordered from Hobbylink Japan and got pretty much Japanese retail price with shipping. I got the PG RX-78-2 for under $150, I think. Much less than the $200+ I see at stores around here, anyway. I really want the Char's Zaku II which is pretty readily available still... I wish they'd reissue the PG EVA 01, that one sold for a whole lot less than most dealers want, online or in person. Grr.
