I'm going to kill the bitch soon if they don't stop debating and leave the damned feeding tube out.
Then I'm going to my lawyer and making sure my will clearly states that I want the plug pulled. If I come out of a coma and I've lost like, I dunno, three or more years, I'm pulling everyone into court who fought to keep me alive.
I made a thread about this a long time ago. I was infuriated that the Florida Legislature had the cajones to make a law saying basically that the judges' decision was irrelevant and the Florida Legislature's word is law. Now the husband has fought this horseshit law and got the judicial branch to *once again order them to pull the plug*. But now the Florida Legislature is responding by getting Congress in on it. Its fucking disgraceful.
Now we have Congress wasting taxpayer resources on debating the fate of this one chick in Florida. I thought it was bad enough that Floridians had to deal with that garbage.
In Florida it was a shocking display of disrespect of procedure on the part of the Legislature. Now, its not only that but a shocking lack of respect for Florida's laws and judges.

This whole thing has turned into a circus. I just wish they'd let her pass away and be at peace, finally. The ironic thing is that one reason her family wants her to stay alive is because if she dies in this state, they believe she'll be in purgatory.
I knew this would get discussed on here eventually. God knows it's getting talked about everywhere else.
The law for Schiavo was written so hospitals could have the right to keep charging anyone stupid enough to keep a vegetable on life support whatever the hospital thinks they can squeeze out of them. There's not a moral issue to be found no matter what kind of smoke screen they try to throw around it, it's clearly all about big fat fistfuls of cash. Utterly contemptible.

The irony is, the very funding sources the Schiavo family depends on to keep Terri alive -- Medicaid and malpractice judgments -- are opposed by the vast majority of congressmen who fought to keep her "alive".

You have this poor girl, an effigy of her former self, being tossed around like some fucking pawn between two arsehole sides who both think they are riding the proverbial moral high horse. This is EXACTLY like the stupid abortion debate, there is no right or wrong answer, only an answer based on ideals. So you let the judge throw the fucking dice and how they land is the "right" answer, you don't fucking "break" the law just to further your moral beliefs, that's for arseholes on cable TV to do.
