Maybe if you'd given even two shits about her before she was in this state, you wouldn't be here, Dad.Quote:
"Terri is weakening," he [Schiavo's father] said. "She's down to her last hours, so something has to be done and it has to be done quick."
Anyway, if giving her over to the parents will get this out of the news, I support that move.
Now, she's magically almost speaking in full sentences, according to the family. She apparently tried to say "I want to live" by saying "AHHH", which could of course have been her trying to say "I want to die" as well, but that doesn't make for a feel-good movie of the week. This just gets more and more sad as time goes on. Someone also put a $250,000 bounty on the head of Michael Schiavo, and someone did the same thing to the judge who ordered the tube be removed. A group of 10 year olds were arrested for some shit involving this, with the parents praising them for being arrested for doing something good. Others are bringing infants because "they need to see this".
If Mzo's mom didn't live in Florida, I'd say just nuke the place.
The most amazing thing is that people are put on and taken off life support on a daily basis. Everyone has heard of "pulling the plug" and there's really no controversy surrounding DNR.
So why the fuck are people suddenly so emotional over this? Does the public think it's a big deal just because the media and politicians say it's very very important? Why is it even a topic of discussion? Family argues over what to do with coma patient, news at 11!
Another reason not to nuke Florida:

Dopey's a fucking idiot.
Dude, look at those cheeks. That's nothing short from squeezable.
Charmin is squeezable, those cheeks aren't. Sethsez, that would be bringing logic into this whole thing, and we simply can't have that. The family is in denial x 1000 over this whole thing. Although it is amusing to see them come up with all of the double-talk and bullshit to keep her alive.
I'd hit it.
Before you jump to conclusions just know this: I am indifferent to this whole thing and I have no opinion, that being said, just for the purposes of discussion...Quote:

I don't get why people are so angry at the parents. Have a fucking heart, they don't want to let go of their kid. I think pro-life activists are full of shit though and that the only people who should decide who lives or dies are the people in question (infact I was even taught in school that while you can try and talk someone out of a suicide attempt, its ultimately their choice and that it was immoral to forcefully interfere). A national register of people who want to die in situations like this should be set up to avoid this kind of crap.
Well first, she's not even on life support. She's being fed and hydrated, that's all. And there is no reason for the parents to not be allowed to cover the bill if they want her to live that's fine, as long as they pay for it, no one else has a right to say anything.Quote:

Ok, because you seem to have missed it again, they aren't paying for it. The malpractice settlement they won is basically gone, so it's you and I that are paying for it.Quote:

She wasn't a child when this happened, either... I'm not seeing why her parents should have more say than her husband or her own, stated wishes, and the courts have agreed with this every single time.Quote:

How is a feeding tube and hydration NOT life support?
Beats the Hell out of me. It's not a natural way of living, so it's still an artificial means of being kept alive, something she said she didn't want to be. I do enjoy seeing folks grasp at straws as to how it is a natural means of living. I just saw a Headline News crawl stating that she'll be getting an IV put into her. I don't know how accurate that is though.
I know how to solve this once and for all:

Everytime I see this thread bumped, I go in expecting a "Terry Schiavo died today at 4:59AM"Quote:

Opaque, exactly what I was thinking. She just needs to be put out of her misery. And since it is amazing how her condition magically improves whenever her parents do an interview, so what the hell, put them out of our misery as well.
God this case has the media attention whores out in spades. Anyone who got on tv after the verdict should be horse whipped, and the politicians pilloried for disrespecting the system. I swear americans have no dignity left.
There was an article today about how some girl missed the chance to see her grandfather before he died in his last few minutes because she got held up by police security for Terry Schiavo. She ran into the hospital barefoot and in pajamas to see him, and they held her up at the metal detector.
Dude, they would have had to shoot me to stop me from seeing a member of my family before the passed away.
If Terry was already dead this sort of thing wouldn't happen.Quote:

This way everyone except Terry's parents gets something they like, but they're not getting anything they want anyway unless a Horde priest comes along.
Is there one of those counters like what they have on Gamestop's website for upcoming games that's marking a possible date for her yet? If not I think someone needs to get on that, I nominate someone else.
Alien...
Not that I know of, but someone did make a Firefox extention.Quote:

man, some kid i know is always bothering me about moral cases like this, and he went on a good fifteen minutes about what's "the obvious right thing to do" and all who's "corrupt and after the money" or some other kind of random jesus-freak crap. he never puts up a very good argument. I figure there's no chance of her ever leading a normal life again, so people have to accept that. and if that means putting her out of her misery, then so be it.
All i know is when i get married, one of the first things i'll want to have worked out with my wife is getting, in writing, what either of us would want to be done with us should we ever end up in such a situation.
I wouldn't say it's putting her out of her misery... more like her stupor. Most of her brain is liquid at this point.
Is she dead yet?
I swear, just euthanize her already.
If she hasn't recovered after fifteen fucking years then she's never going to.
Her husband has been a true trooper sticking by her as long as he has, but enough is enough. I think the man she married knows her better than her parents ever will, so authority in this matter is his and his alone.
The stupid part about this whole case is that a friend of mine recently asked if she could put my name down as her guardian in case something like ever happened to her. She said wanted someone who she knew would be able to pull the plug.
I don't know if that was a good thing that she said that or not.
HAHAHAHA! That is fucking AWESOME! Now I don't have to check anything else, when I wake up in the mornings I can just look at my computer and it'll tell me if I need to go run out and buy some cupcakes.Quote:

They should find a better way to kill her.
Have a national lottery for who gets to walk into that room and smother her to death with a pillow.
To spice up the auction you should offer different methods. People like options.Quote:

Also, some Christian groups are hoping she dies today (Easter) because they think she's suffering as Jesus did and if she croaks today that it'll be a sign that Jesus came down and took her to heaven himself. Of course, they're are quick to point out that Jesus was given water while he was on the cross, something that Terri is being denied.

And she's still getting fifty hours of TV time on every network. It's really sad seeing everyone in denial about this. Right now, there's someone on the Nancy Grace Show saying this is one of the most macabre things he's seen in America. I'd put 9/11 above this, just a TAD.
That was not really macabre though. We griefed and then were very united. This is entirely a different thing. We also had reason...this thing is rediciculous.
Network TV is griefing america. There's no reason to beat us over the head with every bum fuck thing these people have to say. I'm especially pissed off with Tom Delay who's sunken to new lows. Btw he's MY district's rep.
9/11 > Tsunami > human feces become currency > Paula Abdul mauled by tigers > Terry Shiavo has no brain
Terry Shiavo has much competition.
Tsunami > 9/11
9/11 + American egocentricity > tsunami
Rescue 911>9/11
On the news this morning they interviewed this old couple who said they knew what Terri's parents were going through because their daughter went into a coma when she was 10. They never gave up hope, and 6 months later, she came out of it! See? SEE??!?
Um, there's just a slight difference between 6 months and 15 YEARS, you stupid fucktard douches. And it's not like their kid's brain had turned into Kool Aid, either.
Shit, that's cold. But after Josh's 9/11 "owned" pic, nothing suprises me. :)Quote:

She lasted exactly as long as was estimated (14 days), and now the family Preist is saying he's shocked that America would allow something so horrible to happen. Shit, we've done a Hell of a lot worse than this. I was hoping the news channels would listen to South Park and maybe consider that she didn't want to be seen like this on (inter)national TV.
Thankfully, Michael Schiavo was there when she passed away. His family has stated that they (unlike the Schindler family) want this to be a private matter, and are refusing to do interviews. Michael has also been living at the hospice since the 15th of March, apparently. And the Schindlers are saying that Michael wasn't there when she died...oy! George W. Bush is going to give a statement in an hour or so. Also, CNN has been showing some depressing before and after pictures of her. They've got the Schindler famiily lawyer on, bashing Michael, and saying that there might have been TOO LITTLE MEDIA COVERAGE on this.
It should BE the point for her parents.Quote:

Heh, the pope hijacked all the media coverage now.
It's natural for a parent, mothers especially, to hang onto their children. There's nothing reasonable about it, but no parents want to see their child die before them. Atleast when she's brain dead there's something tangible to love.Quote:

It probably won't even be about her dying. I can see it opening with long, boring shots of her laying in bed, and then we get to see the memories of her dissolve in life, ending in a climactic barf scene that rivals the one seen in Team America: World Police. Infact, the movie will be so hyped it will be translated in to a feature epic.Quote:

Okay, that's funny.
No mentions of South Park?
I said 9/11 > tsunami because the tsunami was natural and for all intensive purposes was probably nature's way of keeping our population in check. 9/11 was just plain murder.
I'm sitting at lunch with my girlfriend when she tells me that Shiavo died this morning. I tell her "No shit?" and she says "Yeah, apparently the Pope stole her feeding tube."
Who the hell is Terry Schiavo?
No one, go back to sleep.
This morning the corner of Firefox told me all I needed to know and I knew today was going to be good. And it was.
Thank god shes dead, I couldn't stand to hear about her incessively on the news every morning.
