All's quiet on the eastern front. Nothing new for SNES AFAIK (they said some cartridges have "beefier" chipsets which are not as easy to get 100% speed on PSP) and unfortunately, still no progress on PSP MAME. Still lots of emu goodness to be had though. Love my NESTER, Genny and Neo CD as much as ever. Just added a bunch more Genny and SMS roms too.

I picked up P.Q. tonight, totally forgetting that I have to deal with this stupid firmware stuff. Now I have to decide what I enjoy more on my PSP, new games or old games. (I'm not messing with any of these firmware fakers, thanks.)

'Doshi, man. I again say, download Fanjita's eboot 2.0 v.9. Play your new game, play your emu. I have run it a zillion times, it has not hurt my PSP.

Right, see I was 1.5 until Tokobot upgraded me to 2.0. Using Fanjita's eboot V.9 loader I can play all my emulators (NESTER, Genny, NeoCD, SMS) and some hombrew games like NOIZ2SA. His previous loader was badly bugged and wouldn't even boot some stuff I had like my Neo CD emu. The V.9 release, while it will still freezes 5/10 times, works much better and loads everything from my NESTER to my Neo.

Before fanjita got rolling, I used MPH's downgrader a few months ago when I briefly owned PSP Battlefront 2. Fanjita's loader may not be perfect, but when it works, it is beautiful stuff. Plus, I'm a LOT more comfortable with Fanjita's loader than I ever was with the MPH downgrader (though i did downgrade sveeral times with no issue FWIW)

Check out fanjita.org. Read the instructions and compatible emu list carefully (some emulator versions are not yet working on it)

Heh, I almost made an impulse PSP game purchase, but I was afraid what version firmware I'd need so I left it at the store. :/

I gave up on the PSP homebrew scene in order to avoid this kind of dilemma. I'm running 2.60 now. I didn't pay $250 for an emulator machine.

Dont forget, some games require 2.0+ firmwares inorder to play the game such as GTA and a couple others.

Hopefully Fanjita will release a workable firmware loader that can load a firmware via memory stick and let you play games without flashing the PSP.

The eboot loader is a great program. I unfortunately, havent used it due to my other reasons *cough*. But once he gets his firmware loader working near 100%, I'm all over it or whenever TeamEmergencyExit releases a PSPdualboot.

They are already close to cracking 2.6 sooner than later. From fanjita.org (still very buggy and not for 2.5 anyways so would not recommend downloading it now):

Also, PSIX has now released (http://www.psixonline.com). Download the lite version. There is a pro version but you'll have to pay $10 to get features months before the lite will get it plus special access to other stuff.

Its still a little buggy and not all features work but it looks awesome! Its for 1.0 and 1.5 only.
