Mythology Books

I went through a few bookstores yesterday on the hunt for some more mythological reference books. A few of them caught my eye, so I wrote their info down and decided to check out some reviews online, but it turns out I can't find any outstanding reviews for them, so I wanted to see if you guys knew something about any of them.

This one was kinda wierd, it didn't have well known "places" like Asgard, Valhalla or Mt. Olimpus, so I was hesitant on it. But it did have a listing for Avalon, and a lot of interesting places that I've never heard of.

"Mythology" is a pretty huge category. Care to narrow it down? I mean, are you looking for books on hermeneutics, archetypal symbology, comparitive iconology? Myth as transubstantiative pedagogy? Whether Thor can beat Superman?

You should do your homework before you buy. You don't want to be stuck with some hippy new age shit about mythology.
