What shitty game are you playing?

It is not as common as it used to be, but we all still play shitty games. Either because we "just" got a game instead of reading about it first, or because the price was right and the box was pretty.

I just got Chaos Legion and Zone of the enders for 3 bucks. Chaos Legion would be a good game had it kept with that part right at the start where enemies pore in from everywhere and you slaughter them, INSTEAD of going to "kill stupid plant thing, kill boss, wash repeat."

So what turds are you guys playing?

I bought Vagrant Story for twelve bucks once, but i just couldn't enjoy it. the endless dungeon was one thing, the fact that i'd keep forgetting which way i was going when i loaded my file and ended up backtracking half the place was another. The combat system, i like, tho, as well as the customizable weapons. they just should have made the rest of the game not crap and it would have been awesome.

I just bought Crimson Sea for $6.90 from Micro Center. It was fun until I hit the stage where you have to push the president through the entirety of it. Then it was fun again until I hit the stage where I have to wander around a city looking for INVISIBLE enemies. I thought this game was supposed to be insane ass-kickery like Dynasty Warriors. Gee whiz.

Death by Degrees. The game starts out with Nina sunbathing while on a mission. On a cruise ship. An enemy cruise ship. And she wonders why she gets captured.

cold fear....its not crap per se, but the start doesnt really make you want to play any further :)

Every so often I would play Orphen for shits and giggles, but I later found that it had a much better use being traded in to get RE4. GG, Orphen, GG.

DBZ Sagas, AND Cold Fear.

Does Cold Fear get any better? The beginning really sucks.

SF3: Third Strike..

the game isn't shitty, of course, but if I want to play it on XBL with a non-shitty
controller (for example, magic box + saturn pad), I can't use the communicator to
scream "SHO-RYU-KEN" every time I connect with an awesomely-timed dragon punch..
and the online experience therefore feels empty to me..
and no, I don't really scream random shit when I'm online..

I got like 2.50 + 10 bucks for their trade-in offer if I brought in like 2 or more. That's more than I originally paid for it 3 years ago. The only thing I MIGHT miss is the incredibly overdone special move shouts that Orphen does:

"THE BITE.....OF LIGHTNING!"

And oh yeah, you can't forget about Turok: Evolution. I once activated every cheat and played through the last half of the game. It's really, REALLY shitty but the weapons can be fun.

I wouldn't call it shitty...well ok it's shitty, Lunar Legends for the GBA has had most of my attention lately. I mainly got because I never was able to beat the PS Lunar before my PS broke. It's not that horrible, but compared to its PS counterpart, it really is a big dissapointment.

I'm playing through, lol, the Sega Classics Collection.

Deliciously cheesy and half ass.

Two shitty games in one day!
After getting frustrated over searching for the unsearchable, I tried diving into Prince of Persia: Warrior Within again. Nothing like doing scaled down versions of the platforming puzzles of the original to HARDCORE ROCK! Man, them fights is glitchy and ceaseless, too.

What Bizarro universe do you come from?

My crap game of the week that I borrowed out from the store is a lovely little eyesore called Yager. I wanted to check it out because the name was cool.Couldnt be that bad if it was named after one of my favorite shots,right?...Wrong. Its a futuristic Crimson Sky clone wannabe...after 15 minutes with it, I'm moving on to better things.

Top Gear Rally (GBA). It was only $6 new, but it's not often that a racer on the GBA is all that great. It's a time killer at best.

Just tried some Sega Classics Collection, ouch, it is really as bad as people say. Outrun was completely butchered, same with Golden Axe. Even Virtua Racing does not seem to be the same.

Sega Classics killed my dog and then killed my mom with my dead dog.

Keep in mind that I did like all the Budokai games and I'm a huge DB whore.

Dynasty Warriors 5 for a bit, then to IIDX 9th once mine shows up.

I also recently bought a game called Generation of Chaos 3, basically out of pity for the store (and a chance that it could be an obscure, decent game); they're clearing all of their import software out and they marked it down from $78 to $20 (which is what it usually goes for on ebay now, so I figured what the hell) and I still feel sorta ripped off. It has a few decent ideas going for it but basically everything in the game is as cliched and uninspired as possible. There are times when people should be glad SCEA blocks games from coming to the US, and this is one of those times.

Still, the biggest piece of shit game EVER is stake. Worst Xbox game ever, PERIOD.

I played a little of Enter the Matrix. Worst $10 I ever spent.

I'm holding zombie revenge in my collection somewhere, still have to make time to play it.

I am actually in the market for a copy of Enter the Matrix.

Funny you mention finding the front of the boat as a sticking point, because I wandered around for about 10 minutes, never found it, and then went on to the next game.

Maybe I'll try it again tomorrow night.

It's an extremely mindless beatemup, and I'd bet that DBZ fans are gonna like it a lot more than I do. I'm in the city level now (where you fight the androids as Trunks) and the camera just started to get all spazzy.

I love that game.

I'm borrowing a bunch of PC games and while most of them are good some aren't that great like K.Hawk and Devastation. K. Hawk's a budget third-person stealth action game. Devastation is an okay FPS, not really shitty but there are many better games in the genre.

made it a little further. it would help if there was a map function. basically you have running zombies in the game, that MUST be shot in the head or they keep getting up. well as you know the shooting control leaves a lot to be desired so im still not having fun.

I completely agree. I purchased the game for $5 and still feel ripped off. Honorable mention goes to Unlimited Saga.

Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories. I really want to finish the game but Squaresoft really doesn't want anyone to play it, two concepts that are very much at odds right now.

Right now its sacred, yeah its a mostly derivative diablo clone, but i enjoy it, im a loot whore,and the characters are actually kind of cool.Im even excited for its expansion pack.

Im also doing silent hill 4. its not horrible, but the hub design really feels awkward, worst of the 3 i played(still havent done sh3) The fact that they refer to places as "worlds" breaks the feeling, and i just got stumped by a really stupid item location.

Bloodrayne is a steaming log of Pope shit. I don't know what kind of retards can take a game about Nazis and hot vampire babes and make it not fun, but they pulled it off.

SVC:Chaos for me too.

I almost picked up this bargain bin game, for $4 at ToysRus. I'm sure it's one of the worst games on the Xbox.

I have never understood why so many hate the game. I think it's a good action game. The sequel seems much improved and more balanced too as they made it so you don't constantly jump on people to drain their blood.

I played this game like a year ago. The video store I used to work at got it for rental, and I took it home one day. Its hard because it makes NO SENSE! You are this old man riding a unicorn and your attacks don't hit anything and you have these abilitys that arn't usefull. I just rode around attacking these goblin things and had no idea how to accomplish the task it wanted me to do.

Best part of the game, is thats its named "Chapter One" so I guess we can expect Chapter Two?

You should check out Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories. They made the combat ten times as horrible and removed the terrible level design to replace it with make-your-own terrible level design. I think what sickens me the most is that Squaresoft is a large company so you know they had to actually have a committee sit down, ask each other, "What could we possible do to make this game even shittier in every way we can?" and then brainstorm for days to get to this point.

For the $10 or $20 you'll drop on Breakdown, I'd say go for it, but be prepared to work at it. There's a lot of cool shit in the game, but the gameplay is really not for everybody. I appreciated more what it was trying to do than what it actually did for me, but there were some parts of the game that struck me as insanely awesome, and I don't regret spending $20 on it. Maybe I'll try it again in an easier mode if it even has one, heh, the combat just didn't work for me but I would have loved to experience more of the game.

I think I'm going to finally play Crimson Tears today if I can clean up my room a little bit first. I am the world's only Dream Factory fan so I'm probably going to love it, but it got slammed pretty hard in reviews if I recall. I bought it last September or so but never got around to playing it. I should grab a copy of Kakuto Chojin off of eBay one of these days, too.

Old-school as hell, but the SNES version of Phalanx... It's not soldering-iron-sodomy bad, but it's just bland as hell. Still, it has an old Ozark dude with a banjo... Best. Boxart. Ever.

I'm playing Worms 3D a lot lately. Everybody hates it but me.

Another shitty game that I loved was Dark Arms: Beast Busters for the Neo Geo Pocket Color... hot damn, did that game have some fucking broke-ass Engrish. All I could think to myself, when I wasn't laughing, was, "I'm translating English".

Chain of Memories is awesome, it's like a faster paced Mega Man Battle Network. I love it.

Breakdown is fucking awesome, even though the lock-on controls suck ass.

I decided to give Red Ninja a rent despite horrible review scores. It's like Tenchu with a much shittier camera. The atmosphere and wire kills are very cool though and despite all the flaws I like it.

Rented SVS Chaos: SNK vs Capcom. Never had played the game, and curiosity finally killed the cat.

This game is weird.

It feels like its 10 years old or something. I've had fun playing, and then something will make it very unfun. There are things I like, and things I really don't like. Like for instance, I love the attention to the single player story mode, even if the dialouge is silly. But I HATE that you get supers so easily. And I REALLY hate Shin-Akuma. Played some dude online and he played as Shin Akuma and basically did supers all day long, you should not be able to do multiple Raging Demons in one round when the Time limit is on.

I did not find it to be too laggy on line, I was able to play fine enough. But the games natural "chug-chug" feel to it makes it difficult to really gauge the online aspect.

Overall I can have fun with this game, but its amazingly "low-rent". The games quality is all over the map. I'll buy it when it gets down to like $10.

I bought SW: The clone wars (Xbox) for $7. The game is a complete turd. The graphics look bad, even if it was a PS2 game. Though I'm sure this was a port from the PS2 version.

The only way anyone could like SVC Chaos is if they like anything SNK makes regardless of the quality or if they've never played any Street Fighter game ever.

I just got an Xbox copy of DOOM III. I think the backlash against this game is pretty retarded (I played it on PC when it came out), so I actually really like it. The Xbox port is quite nice, and I can't wait to try out some system link co-op.

I borrowed Devil May Cry 2 from TrialSword and beat both discs in two days. Ran the game clock up to about 4 hours for Dante, 3.5 for Lucia. That was the largest bout of tedium I've played since Dynasty Warriors 3. No variantion in anything (weapons, enemies, etc.), awful plot and dialogue, and RIDICULOUSLY easy. Everything went down when I mashed on buttons. Didn't have to react or dodge at all like I did in DMC1.

Dante Must Die mode in DMC2 was without a doubt easier than normal difficulty in DMC1. I'm 100% serious. I don't think DMC2 was as bad as everyone said, but I do think that the game's complete lack of difficulty was pretty pathetic.

Summoner and Red Faction here. :) It's not so much that they're crappy as it is that they're quite dated now.

Nano Breaker and Rayman Hoodlum's Revenge, although Rayman is the lesser of two evils here. It's funny that DMC 2 gets mentioned, as I plan to play that tomorrow, and I'm loving DMC 1 now.

I also dont understand the Doom 3 backlash... it was one of the ten best games of last year, easy.

As for shitty games... no, I havent played any since I quit EB. The worst game I ever played was Carmageddon 64, though.

DOOM 3 was boring after the initial shock. It was like a horror movie that relied entirely on cheap scares.

I'm currently playing the first ECW game on Dreamcast. Wrestling games have come a long way, but it was 99 cents, and it's ECW, so I play it.

I also dont understand the Doom 3 backlash... it was one of the ten best games of last year, easy.

Doom 3 had to live in the shadow of the original Doom. Personally I knew it wouldn't be the revolution the first game was so I wasn't too disappointed. There's no way it deserves a spot in the top ten of last year though. In the FPS genre alone Half-Life 2, Halo 2, UT2k4, Riddick, and maybe Far Cry were all better.

I'll say that Doom 3 (as far as single-player is concerned) was better than:

but honestly, give Doom 3 a whirl with the Classic Doom mod. It's the best of both worlds and seriously fucking incredible, if they finish that mod it'll be quite possibly the best single-player FPS ever.
