So my friend spilled orange juice on one of my controllers yesterday, and now the buttons all stick when I press them. The controller functions completely fine except for the sticky buttons, anybody know the easiest way to clean the buttons without having to take the controller apart?

The reason they're sticky is because they're doing so on the inside where the buttons are actually touching other parts, so aside from destroying the electronics by immersing the whole thing in hot water and soap and hoping it cleanes the inside well enough - no.Quote:

Aslong as you let it dry before running current through it again, how would it destroy the electronics? I've dunked part of a laptop in water before, let it dry, and it worked perfectly.Quote:

I'm just going to attempt to take the sucker apart and clean the buttons. If it dies, so be it, I'll just get another one. But I might as well attempt to salvage this one.
your problem was that you used soap with that water, which might leave a soap residue possibly ruining the parts. As long as you allow all the water to dry out, everything will be completely fine. One time I even hosed down my computer monitor.
The fact is, as long as you use water, and you let it dry COMPLETELY, it will work 100% fine, with a 0% chance of not working. Unless you are a dumbass.
The problem with that theory is that there could still be residual moisture left in the device.
